poppyshake Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 In preparation for Friday at the O2 . . . What? truly? .. oh man! .. lucky you .. I'm so happy for you but also so green .. it will be wicked. http://youtu.be/2UpDDukLwjY Beautiful song, great singer .. I love the rawness of it.
poppyshake Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I love it .. my Dad always used to sing it at the top of his voice .. he still gives it a go every now and then
muggle not Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I love it .. my Dad always used to sing it at the top of his voice .. he still gives it a go every now and then Ray Charles was one of a kind. A great singer and that was a great song.
poppy Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 (edited) Two great songs and singers Poppyshake. I love Joe's raspy voice and Ray Charles is just wonderful. This is probably my favourite Joe Cocker song. The raw emotion he puts into it is so moving (I just wish the audience would shut the ....up!!) Edited October 25, 2012 by poppy
Karsa Orlong Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 What? truly? .. oh man! .. lucky you .. I'm so happy for you but also so green .. it will be wicked. Yeah, they put extra tickets on sale about a month ago and I managed to get a couple

Karsa Orlong Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Fifth time I've seen Muse and the first time I've been a bit disappointed with one of their gigs, tbh. Didn't like the set list, way too much from the new album (no New Born, Bliss, Citizen Erased, Feeling Good . . . ), and its best track, Animals, was nearly lost under the chatter from the crowd. Had to laugh at the crazy drunk woman behind us, though, who sang along to Madness, every note completely out of tune Set list: The 2nd Law: Unsustainable Supremacy Interlude Hysteria Resistance Supermassive Black Hole Panic Station Animals Monty Jam (Drum and Bass Jam) Explorers Sunburn Host (First half) Time Is Running Out Save Me Madness Follow Me Undisclosed Desires Plug In Baby Stockholm Syndrome (Freedom riff outro) Encore: The 2nd Law: Isolated System Uprising Knights of Cydonia Encore 2: Starlight Survival Highlight (brilliant stage set up, as usual):

I mean at least have New Born OR Bliss .. don't leave out both of them (I'm thinking that Starlight could definitely go .. especially as an encore - but then it's always a good excuse for pyro. Also Undisclosed Desires .. that's a weird and indulgent choice. Oh well at least they didn't play Guiding Light ) Brilliant stage set up though
Karsa Orlong Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 (I'm thinking that Starlight could definitely go .. especially as an encore - but then it's always a good excuse for pyro. Also Undisclosed Desires .. that's a weird and indulgent choice. Oh well at least they didn't play Guiding Light ) They played Guiding Light last time I saw them Agreed about Undisclosed Desires. There were a lot of quieter, slower songs in the set last night - kind of killed the atmosphere at times. I expect they have changed it up for tonight's show. Starlight definitely gets the crowd going, though, I didn't think it should be an encore, especially after Knights of Cydonia. And that's two gigs running I've seen them when they haven't played New Born This was last time . . .
muggle not Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 The Green Leaves of Summer - The Brothers Four................a nice song
sod Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Whilst reading his book I'm also going through his back catalogue and I love this song and album
poppy Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 (edited) Just been listening to Nina's version, now this one of CCR's, just as good IMHO. Edited October 28, 2012 by poppy
Chrissy Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I have been listening to John Frusciante's version of the Bee Gees 'How Deep Is Your Love?'

I mean at least have New Born OR Bliss .. don't leave out both of them Brilliant stage set up though Well, last night they ... swapped out Stockholm Syndrome for New Born, Map of the Problematique for Hysteria, Liquid State for Save Me, and moved Knights to the very end but that was about it
