Kell Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Ooh, I've just been lent the Kite Runner by someone at work. What was it that you loved about it? Quote
KW Posted September 22, 2006 Author Posted September 22, 2006 Drama. Exotic locale. Intense situations. Deeply woven characters. And all of this simply builds and builds in this war torn part of the world in such a way that your eyes are opened and you are unable to stop visualizing and thinking about these characters and their lives. I was so relieved to find out that they are going to make a movie out of it. I can't wait to see it! Hope you enjoy it. Tell me your feelings on it when you're finished. Quote
everydayxangels Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Currently reading: The Thirteenth Tale That's on my huge list of books to be read. How is it? Quote
KW Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 Actually, I'm kind of skimming through the first chap here...and surprised to be doing so. Quote

Janet Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 I was so relieved to find out that they are going to make a movie out of it. I can't wait to see it! They are?! That's excellent news (providing they don't ruin it!) - it's one of my favourite books so far this year. Quote
KW Posted October 4, 2006 Author Posted October 4, 2006 Now I'm reading Wild Roses...trying NOT to yawn through this one...sheesh, my luck these days... Quote
Michelle Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Hmm.. you're not doing very well with the books you pick up at the moment, are you? What are you looking for at the moment.. exciting plot, deep characters, great location...? Quote
KW Posted October 5, 2006 Author Posted October 5, 2006 All of the above?????? LOL. I dunno. It's driving me crazy. Writing has made me this monster with a lense so tight, if I don't like what I focus on, I'm searching the horizon for another piece. Quote
Louiseog Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Have you tried www.findmeagoodread.com and there's another one www.whatshouldIreadnext.co.uk. Quote

KW Posted October 6, 2006 Author Posted October 6, 2006 I've done some MAJOR skimming thru Wild Roses -- an awful lot of nothing IMO -- and am gleaning a wee bit of enjoyment for the purchase. Can't wait until The Emporer's Children arrives. That, will hopefully save me from this reading slump! GGRRRrrr Quote
KW Posted October 6, 2006 Author Posted October 6, 2006 Thanks, Louise. I've always loved that name for some reason. Think I'll make a character in my next book with that name... Quote
Louiseog Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Really confused do you like Louise or which book? Quote
Michelle Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I would imagine KW is saying she likes the name 'Louise'. Quote
Louiseog Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I thought so although there is nothing wrong with which book! Quote
