Ooh, I've just been lent the Kite Runner by someone at work. What was it that you loved about it?

Drama. Exotic locale. Intense situations. Deeply woven characters. And all of this simply builds and builds in this war torn part of the world in such a way that your eyes are opened and you are unable to stop visualizing and thinking about these characters and their lives.

 

I was so relieved to find out that they are going to make a movie out of it. I can't wait to see it!

I was so relieved to find out that they are going to make a movie out of it. I can't wait to see it!

They are?! That's excellent news (providing they don't ruin it!) - it's one of my favourite books so far this year.

Now I'm reading Wild Roses...trying NOT to yawn through this one...sheesh, my luck these days...

Hmm.. you're not doing very well with the books you pick up at the moment, are you? What are you looking for at the moment.. exciting plot, deep characters, great location...?

All of the above?????? LOL. I dunno. It's driving me crazy. Writing has made me this monster with a lense so tight, if I don't like what I focus on, I'm searching the horizon for another piece.

I've done some MAJOR skimming thru Wild Roses -- an awful lot of nothing IMO -- and am gleaning a wee bit of enjoyment for the purchase.

 

Can't wait until The Emporer's Children arrives. That, will hopefully save me from this reading slump!

Finished AOK -- and really enjoyed it. Now I'm reading Falling Star by Karen Weisner -- highly recommended by a reader that liked one of MY books.

I bagged the Emporers Children after countless attempts and am now reading Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase which came highly recommended on another forum.
