Its about two families, one from the North, one from the South and how the two sons (who met at Westpoint, a military school) of these prominent families become the best of friends and how the families meet, become friends and in some cases, marry. When the War starts up, they have to take their respective places. Loved the movie and the book and so I've reordered it for the bookshoppe also!
