I've started 'The Magicians'. It's been a while since I read a pure fantasy book with magic of the groundless Harry Potter variety, so I don't know what I'm going to think but so far I'm liking it. It has enough expletives to suggest it shan't be a children's book, which I definitely like, and all the critical praise includes the words 'smart' and 'intelligent' which is a very good sign. :D

I've a couple hundred pages left on The Shadow of the Wind. I will hopefully finish this tomorrow so I can move onto Macbeth. I then want to read Jane Eyre followed by The Eyre Affair... I'm really rather excited.

Have you seen the movie? I'm looking for someone to tell me if it's worth reading this book after seeing the movie. I liked the movie very much (although at first I didn't expect it to be so good when I saw a trailer..)

I just started reading new Sophie Kinsella - Twenties girl (well, it's new in my country anyway :D) and I quite like it. I keep expecting her to write another book like Can you keep a secret..

I love, love, love the book and am planning on getting the DVD very soon....so watch this space! :D

I've seen the film and thought it was fantastic :D It sticks quite closely to the book, but as with all films there are some changes. I would say you'd like the book Lexi, but it flicks back and forth in time a lot more than the film does and some people find this a bit off putting. But I'd deff say it's worth a try, it's my favourite book :D

I finished A Touch Of Dead this afternoon, was a tad disappointed with it, but was nice to read some new Sookie. Next will be starting Charlaine Harris - Grave Secret.

Finished The White Dragon (Anne McCaffrey) yesterday evening. That makes four books this month. Now, on to the next one, will decide later which one, either Swallowing Darkness by Laurell Hamilton (I cringe everytime I hear the title, her Merry Gentry books alwasy sound like they are a pun (have a pun? how do you use this expression hee hee), intentional or not) or Eye of the World, by Robert Jordan. However, since the last three books I read were more fantasy, might be nice to read more the urban fantasy thing, meaning Laurell Hamilton. Also, easy read those books.

Today I bought:

The Seven Secrets Of Happiness - Sharon Owens

I Heart Hollywood - Lindsey Kelk

West End Girls - Jenny Colgan

Sense and Sensibility - Jane Austen (I bought this to replace the cheap copy I bought, only to get home and find that I already had so now I have an extra copy)

Read a couple of chapters of The Secret Life Of Evie Hamilton - Catherine Alliott yesterday but started reading The Seven Secrets Of Happiness instead this afternoon and am just over 100 pages in.

Finished Macbeth :D I'm not sure whether to read another Anastasia book or to start Gone with the Wind. Or Casino Royale. Or In Cold Blood.

What did you think of Macbeth? I'm part way through the first act.

I finished Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them yesterday. I've just started Gone with the Wind (1 page down, 1006 to go :D)

I'm well into The Magicians now, just over a hundred pages, and it's brilliant so far. Thoroughly enjoying it, love the characters, love the somewhat cynical tone underlying a story about magic, and I can't wait to learn what the bigger darker picture is :D

I don't think I have that much to say about Macbeth really. Basically it was just

kill kill kill, flee flee flee

. The most I got out of the book was making the connection between the We

I'm 306 pages into The Magicians which I started last night. Only 182 pages to go! That makes me a bit sad, coz it's an absolutely fantastic read. Now I must sleep before I die, or I won't find out the end.

Oooh looking foward to hearing what you think Ned - I kinda trailed off it about halfway through, not because it wasn't good, I was just distracted by other books. I thoroughly enjoyed what I read.

I PLAN to finish The Magicians tonight so I can get back into Jonathan Strange.

I read a few chapters of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

My weekend was crazy busy so I barely got any reading in, but I received The Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova as an early birthday present and yesterday picked up First Amoung Sequels by Jasper Fforde at Border's for only $2.00! Very exciting :).

I finished The Shadow of the Wind. I loved it, especially the last half which turned out all the twists and suspense. This evening I'm going to start Macbeth and I also need to finish the Winston Churchill bio at some point.

Have done no reading today not even a page, I hope to rectify that tonight. I want to start something new I am getting a little bored of Betrayed.

But on a good note, the copy I reserved of Fourth Bear by Jasper Fforde is available at my library so I now know what my reading is going to be on the plane!! The Girl who Kicked the Hornets' Nest and Fourth Bear.

Happy Times! :)
