How did you find the forum?

I assumed most people would search for 'book forum' but we don't appear anywhere for that one. (Well, not in google.. we do ok for that one in MSN.. and I think Yahoo.)

We'll just have to keep posting and building ourselves up to top ranking everywhere!! Yeah!

A lot of the ranking is based on the number of sites linking to you. So we all need to join other forums and put links on websites to increase the search engine finding power.

Oh believe me, I work hard at getting our link out there! Our PR (ranking) jumped really quick.. we're a 5 for the site, and a 4 for the forum.. and yet for the keywords I expect, we're not showing.

 

(In addition, we were doing ok in Google, when searching 'book forum' then suddenly we disappeared!)

 

However, it is a good point.. if anyone goes to other forums, and has room in their sig, a small link back to here would be lovely. It helps PR, plus tells those members about us.

I too, saw your forum mentioned at another book forum, it was perfect timing because I was not very happy at that forum and looking for a friendlier place.

I did a search for a book forum and up this came. Lurked for a wee while and liked the friendly atmosphere, noticed Kell and a couple of others are from Aberdeen which isnt far from me so felt like I had a link.

I am loving it!

It was in march 2006. I tried to find books-related sites and forums. At first I found Kell's "On the Shelf" and on the shelf I found link to the Book Club Forum. I added them (links) to my bookmarks and visit them from time to time since then.
