busy91 Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 OK, so this means I must read this before next year or so. It's collecting dust on my shelf. Quote
Raven Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 You've got a couple of years, I don't think this is due until Christmas 2011. Quote
MissWhitlock Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I cannot wait. I really DO hope that they get it right. I'm enraged, however that PJ isn't directing it. Enraged. Why can't he just bloody make time for it? It's The Hobbit! But that aside, I was hoping that the same actors would do the same roles, Ian Holm=Bilbo, Ian McKellen=Gandalf, and blahbluhblah, but apparently not. Ian Holm is apparently too old, and so is Christopher Lee, so they're casting a new Bilbo and Saruman. Hopefully they're good enough. *fingers crossed* Quote

I don't think you will notice a drop in quaility from the Lord of the Rings films. I would have liked Holm to play Bilbo as well though, as I've always pictured him as an older man anyway, but you can't have everything! Quote
Rosalind Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 David Tennant denies being cast as Bilbo (he officially denied it at Comic Con) Quote
Tikkititi Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 David Tennant denies being cast as Bilbo (he officially denied it at Comic Con) Oh, that's a shame. He'd have made a great Bilbo. Quote
Raven Posted July 29, 2009 Author Posted July 29, 2009 Too tall, he's completely the wrong build for a Hobbit. There are plenty of other roles he could play though . . . Quote
Raven Posted November 25, 2009 Author Posted November 25, 2009 The first script has been finished! Quote
Ben Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Ooh this ones interesting.. can't wait to see if they get it right. Quote
Capture Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Oh, that's a shame. He'd have made a great Bilbo. Yes, he would. *sigh* Quote
Raven Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 Hobbit delayed until 2012. Not entirely surprising, given that they haven't started filming yet. Quote
Nightwish Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I hope that it really is worth the wait . But then again... http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/news/a199017/ronan-keating-auditions-for-hobbit-role.html Quote
Capture Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I recently started reading the book, and it's a great read. So, I hope they don't screw it up. Quote

Raven Posted January 27, 2010 Author Posted January 27, 2010 Me too.. and they're starting filming this summer right? I think they are due to start in April. Not sure if that has been pushed back or not as there was some problems with the film rights, I believe. Though please, no Ronan Keating.. Seconded! Quote
