paperplane
Ash Grunwald! I think he's actually in the UK at the moment but if you ever have the chance, go see him! His live stuff is so fun, he really gets the crowd moving!
Weave
I don't think they are lesser known but here goes, 'Turin Brakes', what a great band, I love their sound, just brilliant and 'The Black Keys', which I think are known but when I mention them to people, they do look blankly at me. Nollaig
Civil Twilight! They had a song featured in Harper's Island (Letters From The Sky) but from what other bits I've heard I'd say they're worth a listen.
Peacefield
and 'The Black Keys', which I think are known but when I mention them to people, they do look blankly at me. I LOVE the Black Keys, Gyre! They are excellent . I listen to the tracks 'I Got Mine' and 'Your Touch' all the time. They have a really good sound, and it's just the two guys! Very rough, southern rocker-ish sounding. Good stuff!

ned
Kharma 45, they were a band from my town, signed with a major label, released one album and then split.
