Ok, I just thought that this thread should be started.. I like many people I know am absolutely enthralled by these books. So I was curious as to if anyone has read these books. If so, which brother is your favorite? Any discussion is welcomed. I'm very interested in finding out what others think! :readingtwo:

I've read it, though of course you knew that (and thank you again--for the millionth time--for recommending it :readingtwo:). I thought that every single brother was wonderful in their distinct and individual characteristics, but Vishous certainly singled himself out as my favorite one. The series is simply amazing, and though this was not only the first vampire series, but first vampire book, that I have ever read--aside from the classic Dracula, by Bram Stoker--it's remained my favorite one despite all the other vampy books I've read since then.

I can't wait for Ward to release Lover Avenged this April.

I agree.. I can't wait for Lover Avenged to come this April. Though I'd have to say that my favorite brother is still Rhage. He stole my heart from "go". And Zsadist is the most intriguing! to me :D

The books are, from first to last, Dark Lover, Lover Eternal, Lover Awakened, Lover Revealed, Lover Unbound, and Lover Enshrined. All by J.R. Ward.

Here are the descriptions from the back of the books.

Dark Lover:

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.

The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams.

Lover Eternal:

Within the brotherhood, Rhage is the vampire with the strongest appetite. He's the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover-for inside him burns a ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin.

Possessed by this dark side, Rhage fears the times when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him. When Mary Luce is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world, she must rely on Rhage's protection. Knowing that Mary feels the same intense animal attraction, Rhage must make her his alone...

Lover Awakened:

Even within the vampire brotherhood, Zsadist is feared. Still bearing the scars from a tortured past, he is renowned for his unquenchable fury. Anger is his only companion, and terror is his only passion-until he rescues a beautiful female from the evil Lessening Society.

Lover Revealed:

Butch O'Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard-living ex-homicide cop, he's the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world-to engage in the turf war with the lessers. His heart belongs to a female vampire, Marissa, an aristocratic beauty who's way out of his league. And if he can't have her, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers.

But fate curses him with the very thing he wants. When Butch sacrifices himself to save a civilian vampire from the slayers, he falls prey to the darkest force in the war. Left for dead, he's found by a miracle, and the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back, though even her love may not be enough to save him.

Lover Unbound:

The ruthless and brilliant brother Vishous possesses a destructive curse and a frightening ability to see the future. As a member of the Brotherhood, he has no interest in love or emotion, only the battle with the Lessening Society. But when a mortal injury puts him in the care of a human surgeon, Dr. Jane Whitcomb compels him to reveal his inner pain and taste true pleasure for the first time-until a destiny he didn't choose takes him into a future that does not include her...

Lover Enshrined:

As Primale of the Chosen, the fiercely loyal Phury has sacrificed himself for the good of his race. But his first mate, the Chosen Cormia, wants not only his body but his heart for herself. As tragedy looms over the Brotherhood's mansion, Phury must decide between duty and love . . .

You know, I was thinking the other day (I know, I think about the books at random...but I'm a huge fan of them so it's fine *g*), and Qhuinn (still my all time favorite character from the series :D)reminds me of Rage. At the very least on the "ladies' man" title that had been placed on Rhage before he met Mary.

These all look brilliant! They are definately going on my wishlist too! :D

I'm gonna need to win the lottery or sommat to pay for my wishlist :readingtwo:

LMAO.. Somehow it doesn't surprise me that you randomly think of the books. But I agree, I believe that Qhuinn may be the newest Rhage. Which would be quite ok with me... Gotta love all the Rhage's in the world :readingtwo:

 I couldn't agree more. I did tell you that Rhage bears a resemblance to a certain someone I know :D, so therefore, yes, all the Rhages must be quite liked by myself too.

Speaking of Z, I have the strangest urge to hopefully read on his interaction with

Nalla

to more effect on the upcoming book. I think it was in the epilogue of Lover Awakened that

John sees Bella bringing in their daughter, and for some reason that just left me wanting to read more on it. How he would be as a father

.

By the way, do you think Ward will stop at another book? Or continue on with stories on Qhuinn, John and Blay?

Posted

You know, I've been quite curious about that myself... They skip in the future to show her...yet they don't go any further into it... hmmm...

Um, I've heard rumors of a book for John (for obvious reasons) and then I think she'll be doing one for Qhuinn...*hopefully*

Well considering that

she was born

during Phury's book, there's a good chance that

she

might be brought up in Lover Avenged. I'm crossing my fingers on that one.

Hopefully! Those are musts to the collection, though I think that's where the series would end...unfortunately.

Yes, true, but Ward has a habit of never making any one character in her books truly and completely happy. There's always a twist, a turn, something in there that does not render a happily ever after. Which, come to think of it, is partly why I like her books so much. They're realistic. Ironically, considering the genre.
