EleanorT
I picked the first one of these at the library today and just read random passages, for no particular reason... Brought back many nice memories, I love these books
Pearl
I would def recommend buying the books!!!! I LOVED them. I read them when I was younger and I remember being drawn to the book by the author's writing style. I read the back of book and first few pages and was intrigued. I'm glad I bought it in the end... Watched the films as well but preferred books Sacred, you mention films? Were they any good? I didn't know they had been made into films
AnGee
I started reading these books when I was a child, and I really love them! In France the serie is simply called Les Orphelins Baudelaire. I remember going to the library to read them again and again ^^. When I went to England last year, I found all the books at a very loooow price in a bookshop, so I bought them all.... My suitcase was heavy after that ^^. But I definitely recommend these books.

Berenice
Lemony Snicket's a series of unfortunate events, was actually the first series I've ever read! I still find them fantastic, with all of their twisted and morose characters, macabre locations and terrible organizations, but as I said it was my first series so my opinion may be biased. Virginia
I didn't hear about these books until a few years ago. The kids and I really enjoyed them. We even listened to them on audio while traveling. I think I might need to revisit them!
J. A. Haag
I read the entire series and I have to admit that I preferred the earlier ones. It took me a few tries over the years to finish all of the books and when I did I was unsatisfied. The ending was nowhere near what it should have been. So many questions were left unanswered. I'm not saying that you shouldn't read this, but get into it knowing that you won't be completely satisfied when you finish. I know that there are other books and additions that Snicket has written that might be able to answer some questions but I'm not convinced that it's worth it at this point. L.E.91
You know what is funny is that I believe the Lemony Snicket books were my first actual reads in Jr. lol and on top of that, I never saw a real picture of Lemony Snicket, he was like a mystery author that if he was revealed, the whole world would come to and end haha I would have to say I recommend them, they are my all time favorite books I grew up with. I love how dark the characters are, and I love the plot behind every book, the endings would always blow me away, I stopped reading them after they stopped making more, but then a couple years passed and they made like 2-3 series more I believe. If you love dark children's books, then yes I recommend
