I think Andrew and Heather were the worst last night, and although John wasn't good, I don't think he was the worst

I think Rachel is a lot better than they are giving her credit. I really enjoyed her jive. Cherie was disappointing again last night, I hope she improves again because she's still one of my favourites. Jodies waltz was great :) And I'm so glad she was praised for it. I still hate John and hope he goes soon because I think he is the worst. The next 3 to go for me would be John, Andrew and HEather. The competition has really heated up for the others.

I think Heather was probably the weakest this weekend and would put money on her going tonight.

I hope Cheri stays, she doesn't suit Latin as much as classic ballroom but I think she has a lovely style.

Do you ever get the impression Len doesn't want to be sat next to the other judges, they seem to be on a different planet to Len. He is so down to earth.

I'll let you into a secret; in my yoof, I was prof. dancer and I used to attend Arlene's classes at the Old Dance Centre in Covent Garden, when she had just started up Hot Gossip. She was the best of her kind around at that time - so innovative.

I know John isn`t a great dancer but I can see why people vote for him, he always puts a smile on my face. :)

I completely agree. I was glad with the result last night

I loved Austin's quickstep, Tom's paso doble, Jodie's waltz and Lisa's tango. :)

Jodie has really improved - her waltz was beautiful.

Cherie can only do ballroom dances, she cannot seem to do any latin.

John is easily the worst and should have gone, though I'm glad Andrew did as he was very poor too.

I know what they mean about Rachel - she is young and should be excellent, but there always seems to be something lacking in her performance, like a spark or that bit of attack. She always seems leaden as if it's a big effort. Her jive was good, but she didn't have that special energy that would have made it excellent. She just always seems slightly under par. Compare her energy to Alesha's and there's just no contest.

I think the final will be between Austin and Tom.

I loved the show dances on Sunday too. The five ladies were amazing in their dance, and I enjoyed the "mixed up partners" one where Anton and Vincent briefly danced together. It made me laugh, especially when Anton pulled a face and wiped his hands after dancing with Vincent! :)

Tom was fabulous last night! :woohoo: Lisa was great too. Cherie was really good, but I'm not sure she deserved the same score - she wasn't as good as Tom. What happened to Austin though - he wasn't up to his usual standard?!

John should go by rights, but I think that unless he's in the bottom two, then Heather will go. It's not John's fault - I understand that the judges are frustrated with him but the public need to stop voting for him now. I think he's good fun but if he stays then people who really deserve to be there will go instead.

Tom was brilliant. I thought he deserved a ten. I especially loved the bits he did on his own. There are some break away people at the moment - Tom, Austin and I think Cherie is up there when she does ballroom, and Lisa. I loved Cherie's dance last night. I also thought that Rachel was elegant but needed to flow a little easier. I think Heather and Jodie will be in the bottom two tonight. Jodie isn't as good as some of the others. And it is definately about time that John went. That was apalling.

Another travesty. :woohoo: John should have been out, but thanks to people voting him through, it meant Rachel Stevens ended up in the dance-off. If he goes through next week, another decent dancer will get kicked out so he can walk through another routine with a smug smile on his face. :)

He is really starting to annoy me. At first, he appeared quite charming, but now he's coming across as very smug and arrogant. I didn't like his comments about it being an entertainment show, and as he was entertaining he should stay. It may be an entertainment show, but it is first and foremost a dancing competition, and better dancers than him should not go while he stays. Do we really want him in the final?! I think a lot of people are voting to keep him just to annoy the judges!

Just wondering whether they were using reverse psychology tonight by praising him.

Judy, that's exactly what I thought! I think you're right.

I really hope he goes tonight, because everyone else is better than him.

I loved Rachel's rumba, and also the tango... was it Tom? I'm trying to remember what dance Austin did.

I'm shocked. Cherie did not deserve to go last night. I think she's fab and could have come a lot closer to the final (I never thought she was going to win even though I wanted her to). It is now apalling that John is still in longer than Cherie. He is not improving fast enough and it's costing us good dancers.

Why is everyone taking this so seriously? It's an entertainment programme - these are celebs - they don't need to win it to be dancers etc nothing is riding on them winning except a way of raising their own profile so I am not going to get upset if the best dancers are voted off - I've voted for John hope he wins!:)

I guess the reason I'm taking it seriously is that I don't like unfairness (yes, I know I'm going to be facing continuous disappointment in life, but anyway...)

I don't buy this "It's entertainment, and I'm entertaining" argument from John. Firstly, it is a dancing competition that people happen to find entertaining, it's not a comedy show to find the funniest dancer. It's to find the best dancer. Secondly, John ceased being entertaining after the first couple of times. He does the same thing every week, and the "joke" has now worn thin, when good dancers are getting the push whilst he stays.

I really can't stand the man's arrogance and smugness. If I were him, I would be embarrassed and ashamed to see good dancers leave when I was still there, but he obviously has no shame. And I know it's not his fault - it's the people who vote for him to stay.

I always felt that John should do the decent thing and retire from the competition. He is making a mockery of the show. According to Arlene who was BBC breakfast yesterday, he doesn't take the show seriously as he spends rehearsal time reading the paper and doing the sudoku! It is a farce when decent dancers like Cherie and Lisa find themselves in the dance off.

I appreciate that the show is primarily an entertainment programme but it is after all called Strictly Come Dancing. The judges had a set agenda when they were asked to do the show and that was judging celebs on their dancing merit. They are being quite honest in the programme but it seems to anger the public who want to see John keep on going.

I am really sad to see him go , we havent had a good time recently and this made us smile for the first time in ages , was looking forward to his dance this Saturday and am upset he wont be there , it leaves a bad taste in my mouth , hope the judges and others on that programme who critised him are satisfied - they've upset me and others by him going.!

I also agree with the previous two comments.

He's going to dance on Saturday in a 'Farewell dance'. It's a shame he's pulled out as it's not really what the competition is about.

If it's meant to be purely a show about dancing, rather than about dancing and entertaining then they shouldn't let the public vote.

I imagine those who have voted to keep him in will be angry that they've wasted their money.

Posted

I agree Janet, I don't think he should have pulled out. He was great entertainment and although he was never the best dancer, last week I thought he danced better than he usually does.

It is a competition about dancing and entertainment and I think the judges vote on the dancing and the viewers vote on the entertainment. I don't think the judges should have been so harsh on him, it wasn't his fault the public loved him.

I think it is a shame really.

So is someone still being kicked off the show? How will that work as they won't have enough couples for the end of the series?

Posted

Someone will definitely go this week. But I was wondering about it myself - aren't they going to be a week short now?

My favourite dancers tonight were Tom, Rachel and Jodie. I wasn't too keen on Christine's dance. I think it will be Christine and Jodie (or even Austin!) in the dance off.

Posted

I think they will just give the two finalists an extra dance in the final week to make up for it.

Tonight I liked Rachel's dance, Lisa's and Tom's. I think it will be Lisa and Jodie in the bottom two, Christine seems to have a lot of support.

This happened last year. Instead of 3 being in the final there only be two in the final

Oh, of course. I forgot Kelly Brook left last year after her father died.
