Janet
I don't quite understand why you have two logs on the go? Does one need closing?
Kate
This one can be closed, as can my Portugal thread and the cricket thread
Janet
Sorry - now they're both together I can see that one is 'to read' and the other is 'read'. I don't *think* there is a problem with you having two - I just thought that maybe one was Jan-June and the other July-December or something. Hopefully the cricket thread will get more traffic next summer.
Kylie
Nope, it'll get more posts in a couple of months when our cricket season starts here!
Janet
The Ashes series is fairly soon, I think?
Kylie
It should be in less than a year I think! Not soon enough in my opinion

Icecream
Kate, would you like me to send you Nice Girls Don't Change The World? I want to have a quick look back at it but that shouldn't take me more than a few moments if I find some time on my own. Also, do you know any good books about having a relationship with God? Well really about seeing God as father. I have always been very close to God, but since I have recently changed my life dramatically and faced a lot of challenges I think I need reminding of a few things. Kylie
I suppose it depends if you're in the mood for something light or a bit more challenging. If you want a laugh, go for Adams, Bryson or Pratchett. If you want more than that, authors that seem to generate good discussion around here include Gregory, Heller and Martel. Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
poppy
I'm reading Bill Bryson's The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid at present and it's hilarious as are most of his other books. However, having looked through Made In America and listened to a couple of other people's opinions, it seems more dealing in history and facts, than his usual humorous, roll-on-the-floor offerings. If you are wanting a funny book to read, one of his other books may be a better choice.
kelly2008
Read 'Vanishing Acts' its not as good as 'Plain Truth' but still a great read
