That's a Vera isn't it, I remember the TV episode, set in a health club, think I have the book somewhere but haven't read it.

Hi, currently reading The Invincible by Stanislaw Lem. So far feels very atmospheric with dreamlike colors and mystery in the air like Lem's other novels. Also there's a video game based on it, so it's interesting to see how it's adapted. Other books read recently:

Name of The Rose, Umberto Eco

  The Ice Palace, Tarjei Vesaas

At Night All Blood Is Black, David Diop

American Gods, Neil Gaiman (started great, got bored in the second half)

Reading The Proper Place by O. Douglas, the pen name for Anna Buchan, sister to John Buchan of Thirty-Nine Steps fame.

As companion to The Wilds by Sarah Pearse I'm reading a factual book called Ace: What Asexuality Reveals About Desire, Society, and the Meaning of Sex by Angela Chen. Only 30 odd pages in and it's fascinating.

This is one of those books where you can picture everything clearly from the very first pages. Yeah, he writes really easily, but every word is right where it should be. There's no fluff—every dialogue and every detail matters.

S G MacLean is actually female, the niece of writer Alistair MacLean.  Agree about the writing though, I've read a few of her books and they're very well written.

I have just bought this! Currently on special kindle offer in the UK. :)

Currently reading Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and The Chalice of the Gods. I'm really fond of RR's books, and he is an ideal read for the short bursts of reading I am (finally) able to enjoy.

I just bought The Bookseller of Inverness too. Lord Lovat, mentioned in the first chapter, is our clan chief.

Glad that you are getting back to enjoying reading.
