Sofia Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Am I the only one that thinks the movie looks completely miscast with Reese And Robert? Granted, I haven't seen it yet, but the previews are everywhere Quote
poppy Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 I haven't seen the movie either Sofia, but I can't imagine these two fitting any role in the book. Quote

Kylie Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 I picture her more as his mother I think I heard the other day that Witherspoon did play Pattinson's mother in a movie a while back. Quote
Sofia Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 I think I heard the other day that Witherspoon did play Pattinson's mother in a movie a while back. I just had to google that.....apparently they DID play a mother-son role in 2004's Vanity Fair, but the scene got cut in the end. Quote
angelofboox Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 They're certainly nothing like how I imagined the characters...but depends, maybe the whole movie pulls it off? Quote
Peacefield Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I don't really have trouble imaging RP as a young Jacob, but Reese makes Marlena look much older than Jacob as opposed to what I imagined whilst reading the book. I haven't seen the film yet though so I won't judge, but Reese seems to look, um, very cougar-ish in her role . Quote

Hyzenthlay Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I've seen the film and thought they did quite well as the main characters. And my friend whom I saw it with came out of the theater thinking that Reese Witherspoon was her new favourite actress. Quote
MountainGirl Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I think I really enjoyed Robert P. as Jacob. I do agree with Witherspoon being a little too old.. and not as spunky as I picture Marlena to be. Quote
imma89 Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 My bookclub on goodreads.com just picked this book for this month and I finished it in about four days! It's been a long time since a story cought me like that, I fell completely in love! Nice to find out there was a movie, I had no idea. Deffinetly on my to-watch list! Quote
