Jazmine Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Hi there, has anyone read this book? Any feedback? Thanks!! Jaz Quote
Horsecorset Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Yeah, I really enjoyed this book but found it's pace a little meandering an' lacking the dream-like quality Garcia Marquez nails so well in '100 Years of Solitude'. I read '100 Years' first an' so set the bar very, very high. Quote
RedAlligator Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Yes read it and loved it. Have to say preferred it to 100 years of Solitude. Quote
Horsecorset Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 No, no , no Red Gator!!! This is all wrong! I can't admit 'Love in the Time...' is better than '100 Years...'. I'm sorry - total denial! Quote
z10 Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 this author is incredible at narrative writing, perhaps even peerless Quote
Suzanne123 Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 I got the film for Christmas! If I like that, i'll read the book Quote
Jo-Bridge Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 I really enjoyed the book and the writing is beautiful- I had some misgivings about the portrayl of women though. Quote
kernow_reader Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Oh YES! Read it! Read it! I *love* this book- - one of my all time favourite reads and authors. Quote
The Good Citizen Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I came across "Love in the time of Cholera" and decided any book with such a great title had to be read regardless! I enjoyed it, its beautifully written and a genuine slow burner. Quote
chrysalis_stage Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 i havent read this book yet, but i keep meaning to............... i heard about it from one of my favourite films - serendipity, where kate beckinsales character sarah gives her copy of her book to a second hand stall after putting her name and number in it for fate to take its chance on making its way back to a guy she meets Quote
Chrissy Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 It's a slow burning tortuously delicious languid read of a book! Be ready for perspiring descriptions and meandering lush pathways of thought. I liked it! Quote
Nollaig Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 i havent read this book yet, but i keep meaning to............... i heard about it from one of my favourite films - serendipity, where kate beckinsales character sarah gives her copy of her book to a second hand stall after putting her name and number in it for fate to take its chance on making its way back to a guy she meets Thats pretty much the reason I want to read it too Love that movie Quote
