Orang-U-Can Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 When I was little, everyone was in black and white, including me. Children went to bed at 19:30, they did not have a TV PC or even a radio in their bedroom. If they could not sleep, they read. That was how I started. Now I read, write myself as well. It has been a long and wonderful voyage. Quote
~Andrea~ Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Welcome to the forum Orang-U-Can. When I was little all we had was a black and white portable telly in the living room as the family TV. No remote, and no preset channels, just a single dial for tuning! How did we manage? Quote
Madeleine Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 Did it have an aerial on top, a bit like 2 sticks that you used to have fiddle with? Quote
KEV67 Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 I was born in Zambia and lived there for the first five years of my life. We did have a TV, but the only programmes I remember watching were Sesame Street and Tarzan. I was slightly puzzled by Tarzan because he had a chimpanzee pet called Cheetah, which I was pretty sure was a big cat. I seem to remember the television was in colour, which might have been possible because it was 71 or 72. Tarzan worried me, because whenever the natives decided to launch an attack they would usually do some drumming first. I quite often heard the locals drumming in the afternoon. Quote
