Tiger
Finished Jurassic Park, at long last. I give it either a 9 or 10 out of 10. The Sixth Wife by Jean Plaidy looks really good, but I think that it will take me a while to get into it now that Rosie's gone.
Kell
I'm glad you enjoyed Jurassic Park, Tiger. I read it the summer the film came out and loved it. It's quite a challenging read with all the science-y bits, but a rip-roaring good story. When I heard you were reading it, I was telling my hubby and he couldn't believe someone of your tender years was tackling such a book. Of course I answered, "Yes, but our Tiger is special - she's exactly the type of person I think would enjoy it!" And now you're trying Jean Plaidy too! I've only read one of hers (The Lady in the Tower - it's about Anne Boleyn and told from her point of view), but I loved it. I hope you enjoy The Sixth Wife! Angel
Kell -Tiger's lining up The Lady in the Tower!!! She can't wait 'til she 14/15 and can start on my Philippa Gregory's (they're just a bit too saucy at the mo ). Souns like my Daphne Du Maurier Frenchmans Creek and Jamaica Inn will soon be on that hit list soon as well
Kell
Goodness! I've only just discovered Daphne du Maurier myself! Sounds like you've got some excellent reading material lined up there, Tiger!
Kylie
I wish I'd had better taste in books when I was your age, Tiger; then maybe I wouldn't have such a large TBR pile/wish list right now! While I relatively enjoyed the movie version of Jurassic Park, I think it put me off reading the book a bit. But with all the rave reviews I've read here, I think I'll have to add it to my wish list. Louiseog
I read Jean Plaidy when I was about your age Tiger, they are great.
Tiger
Hi all! I really did enjoy Jurassic Park, and I must admit there were some parts I was all... well, confused about really, like the bit when they're explaining about how the amphibian DNA can cause the dinosaurs to breed... But, yeah, it was a really good book and I'm looking forward to reading The Lost World. The Sixth Wife is really good. I really want to read The Lady In The Tower- I'm fascinated by the story of Anne Boleyn and her cousin Catherine Howard. I also can't wait for Daphne DuMaurier- I hear that some of her books are set in areas that I well-know, places in Cornwall.... Oh yeah, and the cat in my avatar is Rosie, when she was about my age, 12 years old.

Tiger
Yes it is, although I couldn't find this one at the library, so I've had to miss the first to read the second one! I cannot wait to start The Seeing Stone when I eventually find it!

Tiger
I love reading the Jean Plaidy books too Tiger. She writes really well. To me, she has made history a lot more interesting. She most certainly has, Lilywhite! I love her books, and now I'm reading The Lady In The Tower, also by her. I'll have to try Daphne Du Maurier soon, and I'm sure Angel has got lots of Dickens' books upstairs for me to try..... OK, but I might not get much reading done tonight. I've got Sea Watch on, and I keep getting these bloomin' headaches that are doing my head in!
Angel
You need to chill out - you've had a stressful year what with the cat and your Grandfather's illness! Funny enough I do have quite a few Dickens books for you to have
Tiger
Thanks! Another set of books that aren't safe, he he!
Tiger
I liked The Lady In The Tower, but I didn't enjoy it as much as Murder Most Royal for some reason. Maybe it could be because of the first-person, third-person thing. But now I don't know what to read. I might read Redwulf's Curse (forgot who it's by:blush:) now. Tiger
I liked Redwulf's Curse, and I'd give it about 8 out of 10. Finished it just in time, because for my birthday I got: Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison Dancing In My Nuddy Pants by Louise Rennison The Lost World by Michael Crichton Bill Oddie's How To Watch Wildlife
