Madeleine Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Did some more paint pouring today, for some reason I can only download this picture, I was really pleased with it, I used a glue spreader to spread the paint around a bit as I haven't got many bright colours left so tried to use the royal blue one sparingly. 2 Quote

lunababymoonchild Posted July 27 Posted July 27 I did the very first Sudoku to be printed -allegedly - in Great Britain in the Daily Mail. Was hooked immediately. Got bored with it eventually but have found, again courtesy of the Daily Mail (my brother buys it for my father), Super Sudoku which is Sudoku that goes from 1 - 12 and Kurosu, which is giant noughts and crosses. Madeleine Posted July 27 Posted July 27 I can't get my head round Sudoku, but well done you! I have a friend who's addicted too. I've started a small cross stitch, progress is slow to put it mildly, I lost the first needle but took one from another kit, picked it up again the other day, and managed to find some old needle threaders which will help a lot as I'm always coming unthreaded! I need good light though and it's been pretty dull over he last few days. 2 Quote

It’s straight up and down, stitches of different lengths and colours. The canvas is plastic, easy to hold and the holes easy to see. I’ve only ever done beginner’s kits, by myself (and I have trouble counting past 4!) and it’s tapestry wool that’s used, with a blunt needle. If you can do cross stitch, you can do Bargello Quote
Madeleine Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Just getting into cross stitch, where I'm finding it very hard to do a rounded edge, so my butterfly looks rather geometric! I think I'm definitely better with straight edges. Glad the holes are large too! Waiting to hear back from the class leader. 1 Quote

I need good light though and it's been pretty dull over he last few days. I've got one of these kind of lights which are really good for low light situations. You can adjust the angle of the lights. It came in really handy when our power was off for three days recently. 2 Quote

We had major flooding in our region, on two separate occasions, two weeks apart. There were probably many faults in our area but a power pole and lines were washed out and in the river on the property next to us. Even our cell phones weren't working at one stage and roads and bridges were washed out and impassable. We were fine, we have a wood stove that I can cook on and it heats the water, plus a camping gas cooker, gas lantern, torches etc. My main concern was the deep freeze, but we were lent a generator and that saved it 😄 Quote
