You are now cursed with the job that the main character had in the last book you read.

What is that job?

(I'd love to attribute this idea properly but the best I can do is it was posted by The Digital Reader, probably on facebook but possibly Instagram?)

I'm a female detective in London, 1863 (pretty happy about that to be honest )

The last book I read was The Temptation of Gracie. The main character was a retired lady. So I am a retired lady living in Devon at the present time. But she does move to Italy and marries her old lover.

sounds like the perfect life!

the main character in my last book wasn't actually working, but was doing up an old manor house in Kent which she then opened to the public, so I suppose you could say my last job was Lady of the Manor!

I don't think my current heroine is employed, but the main character in my previous book gave up teaching to go to Skye and collect folk and fairy tales.

That sounds like an amazing job! What book was that?
