Nellie
I had the same problem at Uni in my halls of residence. There were no bookshelves in the rooms! We were supposed to study and read books, but had nowhere to store them. I thought that was a bit of an oversight.
bethany725
Oh definately buy them! I think a bookcase makes a home look lovely and lived in. It gives the impression that the person who lives here likes to sit and read in that area and therefore the house gets a loved feel about it. Does that make sense? or is it too early in the morning for me to open my mouth It totally makes sense.. I do really love the look of bookshelves and books covering them. It's really inspiring to me actually! I guess it will all come down to where we settle and how much space we have!
lexiepiper
All of my books are in boxes atm, but I'm getting my first bookshelf in a few days! Can't wait
Kreader
I've just added two new shelves in my bedroom to help with storage. I mostly don't keep a lot of books since I can get through about 5 a week. I borrow from the library or swap my books or give the excess to charity shops ( I get some there anyway). I also hate dusting shelves.
petit_canard25
Whenever i come home from the library with 5-6 books. Most of them stay on a table in the living room. One would be in the washroom. And then i would carry around the novel that i'm currently reading.
Jaelk
My books are spread out throughout my house. My reference books tend to be on the same bookshelf in my dining room with the rest of my books on shelves in my bedroom and in the conservatory (where I like to disappear in the summer)
Nollaig
Mine are now proudly on a shelf over my bed, supported by mythical creatures for bookends
Ben
Mostly all my books are in my bedroom on my shelves. I'm finding less and less room all the time; the cupboard that's under my bed wasn't supposed to have books in it, but now the entire top shelf is full in there. Hehe. When I'm older and I get my own place, I'll hopefully get the chance to have a miniature library or at least a room just for books. We'll see. Kell
Now that my desk has been dismantled (which is where I kept my unread books), I keep Mount TBR in the drawers under our bed at Dale's side (Xander's cotbed is right up against my side). Nollaig
I think people should start including photos in this thread! Surely some people are proud enough of their displays to show their bookshelves off!!

Nollaig
Nothing wrong with dust! It happens! Well if no one wants to thats fine. Just thought it might be cool to see some of these walls and walls of books people claim to have
Chrissy
If I can figure out my newish camera, and then work out uploading pictures - I will actually dust the shelves, take a pic, and post it here!

Ben
I'd be ashamed to take a picture of my bookshelves, although they're relatively ordered, still a bit of a mess!
