Im looking for a novel/story. There is a boy with a history book in a restaurant. Please help me!

In this story, the kid was trying to read his history book in the restaurant and then a group of 4 came in to the restaurant and they were bothering him cuz they were noisy and annoying. Then when he was about to start reading again, his dad came and hung his cloak next to the table, and the boy just stopped. Then it was talking bout his dad trying to act young when he flashed his ring at the ladies and stuff...
