They do, yes. When they're little they get along fine. But as they grow up, after about maybe 10 months, generally in spring , they start to become more aggressive towards one another.

I'm so sorry to hear this :(. May she rest in peace. It's so hard losing a dog.

EDIT: I just read the What's Up in August? topic, I'm so sorry about Bella :(. I had no idea she was so young, that's very sad.

Yesterday we found one of our cockrels dead. He wasn't feeling well the past few days, so we did think that would happen. It's not nearly as impactful as losing a dog, but it was still sad and I cried anyway.

Sorry to hear about Bella, I've just posted on the other thread, at least she isn't suffering any more, but so sad when they're only young.

Sorry to hear about the cockerel too, Athena.

Your hens are gorgeous!

Thanks! So are yours :).

I hope you don't mind, but I've saved your pictures and made them the right way up, see below. If you take offense at this, I will remove them again. I thought you might find it helpful. They really are beautiful :).

Not at all! That's. Great help. Really lovely of you. thank you :)

It won't be long again now til my mum makes porridge for them for the colder months. She makes it with sweetcorn. They absolutely love it.

Wow, I never thought about giving chicken porridge (well, no one in the household eats porridge and I hated it as a child lol). But with sweetcorn, it makes sense they like that, how nice :)!
