Athena Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 The BBC is going to make a TV series of J. K. Rowling's books The Cuckoo's Calling and The Silkwurm. Source: see the BBC website for more information. Quote
dtrpath27 Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 I have yet to read either of them. Are they worth a read? Quote
vodkafan Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 That was a total surprise to me that she had written any. Were they from before Harry Potter? Quote
Raven Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 No, after (the BBC article explains how they came about). Quote
Anna Begins Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 I have yet to read either of them. Are they worth a read? I did not get along with The Cuckoo's Calling. Source: see the BBC website for more information. Interesting article, glad to see they're making a series of them! I have yet to read either of them. Are they worth a read? I've only read the first one, Cuckoo's Nest....here is my review. http://www.bookclubforum.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/12437-pontalbas-2014-reading-list/?p=380731 I have to say I liked it. Certainly enough to want to read the next one, which is on the shelf waiting, patiently, for me to get to it. I've found that most first novels of a series are a bit difficult, and sometimes awkward. Not 100%, but enough for me to expect it. Quote
Virginia Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 I enjoyed both books but "Silkworm" left me with some disturbing mental visuals that still linger months later. Quote
