Have you read Maze Runner by any chance? I just checked and our library has 21 copies (for kindle) of the Maze Runner. There are 175 people on the hold list but divided by 21 copies it means I would be number 8 - 9., not too bad. I will think about it. Quote
Anna Begins Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 No, I haven't read Maze Runner but will check it out. It came out in theaters last month, we are doing a small group read in November. Its YA Science Fiction. Quote

pontalba Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Have just finished The Great New Orleans Kidnapping by Michael A. Ross......a great history/detective story. Review over on my thread. Not sure what is next, although I'm reading a collection of short stories by Blake Crouch...the guy that wrote the Wayward Pine series. He is interesting, sort of adventure/dystopian/Twilight Zoneish. Quote
Kylie Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 I received two books in the mail today: Lena Dunham Not That Kind of Girl Richard Flanagan The Narrow Road to the Deep North Quote
Inver Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Started 'Stolen' ~ Lesley Pearse...read 42 pages, then threw it across the bed.....rubbish. Quote

Kylie Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 I've read quite a bit of Not That Kind of Girl already. It's excellent! It has been a while since I've stayed up reading in bed until the wee hours. Quote
Alexi Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 I've finished The Shining. I loved it but felt I needed something lighter so have started Past Mortem by Ben Elton which is so far an easy, enjoyable read. Still have an ambition to read everything Stephen King has ever written! Quote
itsmeagain Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Finished Capital by John Lanchester. Very highly recommended by me. Quote
chesilbeach Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 Finished Capital by John Lanchester. Very highly recommended by me. Glad you enjoyed it! I thought it was excellent. One of my top reads of the year so far. I've just caught up with my weekly chapters of Nicholas Nickleby as I'd missed on last week. Not sure what I'm going to read this week, will have to see where the wind blows me. Quote
Brian. Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Somehow I have managed to fall into the trap of having several books on the go at once. The one that has caught my imagination most is Physics of the Impossible by Michio Kaku. Quote
Athena Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 I'm currently reading Scott Meyer - Magic 2.0 2: Spell or High Water and am over a third of the way through (page 154 at the moment). I'm quite enjoying it. Quote
