emelee
Have you ever ordered books online, and have had the wrong book recieved, or a damaged book? I got one book wrong today. I had ordered 4 books, 3 were correct but one was not. The 4th book wasn't even close to what I had ordered. Instead of Richard Ford's "Canada", I got "Things my son needs to know about the world" by Fredrik Backman. Not even remotely close. On the invoice it says the correct book. Someone was obviously sleeping on the job....
Athena
I've had this happen once, they sent me a different book. I'm shy though with returning stuff so I kept the book and ordered the one it was meant to be from another place .
Janet
I ordered a DVD from Play.com once (the only time I've ever used them) - I ordered Life on Mars series 2 and got Meet the Fockers!
Athena
For me it was Play.com too, back before they were taken over and changed.
vodkafan
3 times Amazon has sent me two copies each of DVDs I have ordered from Zoverstocks. But with books, no. Edited April 29, 2014 by vodkafan
pontalba
Very occasionally, and as I recall, it was Amazon Marketplace, not the main store. I always contact the seller through the Amazon system, and have always been satisfied with the results. They've either refunded, or sent out the correct book. Sometimes, they even say to just keep the incorrect book. Recently, I received an incorrect book, contacted the seller and never heard from them. I waited the 3 days suggested by Amazon, and then wrote them again in conjunction with contacting Amazon themselves. Amazon apologized for the seller, and refunded the price of the book and shipping charges. I never, ever heard from the seller. But as Amazon had made it good, I didn't care. But, in the decade plus I've dealt with them, it's only happened a handful of times. And those times, Amazon has been very helpful, and very anxious to make it good. emelee
Interesting to see that it's not as rare as I thought. I imagined it happened next to never.
Billy_Horsburgh
I wouldn't say that many companies have screwed up my order. However, as a blind man, I have to order audiobooks and DVD's with audio description because I don't have enough sight to read or see. I did purchase a DVD from Amazon and checked with the dispatch team before the item was sent out to make sure it had the A D track on it, and yet, when it arrived, it didn't. This, fortunately has been the only time.
