Chrissy
Probably a good part of the problem was the stress of the operation. You said that it was worse than expected. It a shock to your system, in general. Even is you are not up to par in two weeks, it's probably be wise to follow through on what the specialist found. Just don't think about it until then. I suspect for the sake of your peace of mind, you might well want to follow through by then. It`s sad that something else is thrown in your path, when you`re in that ` I just go though this and it`s over` mode. We`re all thinking of you, Julie ! Very well said both of you. Most definitely thinking of you Julie. Take very good care of yourself.
poppy
Sorry Julie, I missed your posts saying you were going into hospital. I'm so glad you're home again now and hope your knee feels better very soon.
julie
Morning folks Yep, I'll definitely follow through with the heart issues once I get stronger regarding my knee .It's been really painful this weekend . Tomorrow night is my first therapy session so I bet I'll feel it by then ! Athena, Yes Dr Seuss is definitely worth a try .I'd think they'd be available almost everywhere . It's the easiest books I could think of . I have started Kate's latest read, Summer House ......... I can certainly understand why she was asking the questions she was ! Wow, not an easy guy to like . Our library next town over has an order.up service. You call them with a book order and they have them ready in their drive thru 30 minutes later ,so I ordered some books and the Husbster picked them up for me . Quite a handy service Our town librarian said she'd drop me off a stack , just call and she'd run them up here for me. They weren't open late yesterday though. Anyhow, it's early morning , I just woke up and have yet to take my first pain pills ,so I'm wide awake but my knee feels like Lizzie Borden took her axe to it and gave it 40whacks . Time for some pills. Thanks for all your well wishes. I appreciate them all .
Little Pixie
Aw, sounds like you have really nice library people there. Hope the knee tablets have kicked in ; I think knee pain and earache are some of the most emotionally draining pains around. julie
Yes Devil, I agree ,migraines are horrid . Athena, Yes, I can get through the days ok. The worst time is probably early morning like now. I have to take my thyroid med an hour before eating, and cant take my pain meds without food, so seeing that its been all night since any pain meds, mornings are worse. I'm getting through it ok though, toughing it out . I admire tough people, so I'm trying to be one Edited August 4, 2014 by julie

I'm glad you're getting through the days allright. Interesting review of the Koch book .
pontalba
Spoilers!, Julie!, Spoilers! The doc was a thoroughly despicable person, I agree. But there wasn't anyone much better in the book as far as I am concerned. It's funny, that is the second book by Koch we've read. And, you're right.....there is something compulsive about reading them. Unattractive as the characters are.

Chrissy
Oh Julie, not being able to take your pain meds on waking must be awful. Is there any way you could take your thyroid meds at bed time, rather than first thing in the morning? There was a big (and on going) debate about morning versus evening thyroxin taking on one of my hypothyroid sites, although I am a morning taker like you (I assume you are talking about thyroxin). Some also found that they could eat within 20 minutes of taking their meds without issues, although I usually leave it for about an hour out of habit now. Grrr, why do things always have to be awkward?!
julie
Chrissy The Thyroid Dr said specifically to take it first thing in the morning since I have no thyroid at all now ,and to drink plenty of water with it but no food for an hour so it can absorb into the system faster I guess . So mornings right now are painful for about 2 hours til I get the thyroid ,then eat an hour later and by the time the pain meds work . I'll be able to tough it out . Thanks for the post about it ,though ! Athena Thanks for telling me how to do spoilers. I know how but didn't see that I gave anything away in my post above. I didn't tell what happened or to whom . I just don't feel well right now and not much in the mood to deal with stuff ,so it's easier to just stop posting reviews. I'll just post a rating and call it quits . Thank you for being kind enough to try to help, though . Edited August 4, 2014 by julie
pontalba
Julie, while your review was good, there was the one point in particular that I considered pivotal to the plot, hence a spoiler. I still have the notification of your post on my machine, so will show you exactly what I meant. ...........then decides to take matters into his own hands to seek justice, finding out later that he chose the wrong person .Julie, it was the "chose the wrong person" part that I thought was a spoiler. julie
Thanks ,folks I had the testing done the week before surgery, so I had that on my mind too, but it's ok , so relieved to know that . I kept hoping it'd be ok or I'd have to get other stuff done after my knee ,and I believe I have enough right now . Going to therapy class 2 tonight. Sure hoping I do better than the first one !
