Hey Julie, tomorrow's the big day, and I'm really happy you are able to get this over with.....I know how hard you've struggled.  You're a strong woman, and you have a great husband to back you up.  We're all sending good, strengthening and happy healing vibes your way.

That's great that you can bring the laptop to the hospital!  Look forward to hearing from you on the other side. :D

Hugs, and all that Jazz. :friends0:

Thanks for all the good vibes, Kate ! It'll help tomorrow to know I have people sending the vibes to me . If I can get tomorrow over with  ,it'll be ok .

I'll send you a message from the other side.

Hopefully, it'll be from THIS side .

If you hear knocking in your walls , it's REALLY from the other side ! :ghost:

Well, I made it home tonite . It turned into quite an ordeal . The knee was much worse than expected so they had to do an extensive amount of work to it . Then they had to put me on iron pills and the Dr had to re-seal the wound as it came partly open again from all the pressure underneath it .

Yesterday I began having chest pains and shortness of breath ,so they had to send me for testing for blood clots and heart problems . They did find a minor heart problem that needs a follow  -up but I am waiting til I get this knee feeling better . It hurts SO much worse than the first one  .

Anyhow, just an update. I'm home and all in one piece .

Thanks to those of you that left messages . It was very kind of you .

I'll check in again after I have some time to regroup .

Ouch :(

Good to hear you are back home at least, nothing like your own bed. Thinking of you while you heal. Hugs!

Glad you are safely home, Julie!  I'm glad that if you were going to have any problem with your heart that at least you were already in the hospital and not having to get there.  Sending more healing vibes your way.  Take it easy, kiddo! :D  :flowers2:

I'm glad you are safely home but it's not nice at all your knee hurts so much :(. I'm glad they discovered the heart problem. I hope you can rest a bit now. Do you have / are you allowed to take, painkillers? :friends0: I hope you feel better soon :flowers2:.

Yes, definitely good to be back home and in my own bed . Yes, I have pain pills to take so they help a bit . I start therapy Monday but have exercises to do here at home too .

Thanks very much, Chrissy .

I'm allowed to walk now, with a walker . I can't walk without one since I can't put weight on my knee yet, so I have to have something to hold onto . I'll use it about 2 weeks then go to a cane for 4-6 more weeks .

I'm trying to read a bit today but it's hard to concentrate much when my knee hurts plus my pain pills make you feel foggy headed . so I'm attempting to read but not sure how much is sinking in .

Maybe I should read a Dr Seuss book .I might be able to retain those !

Thanks Pixie

Yes it was scary ,but when things like that happen so fast you don't have a long time to wait and worry, you just have to do as they say ,so it's easier than scheduling an appointment and waiting . That gives your brain too much time to think of all the possibilities .

The specialist didn't seem to feel it was an emergency that I do something immediately ,so I have a bit of time to get this knee on the mend before having to be seen by him. He told me 2 weeks, but I'll probably wait til my knee feels a lot better before taking on any more .

Probably a good part of the problem was the stress of the operation.  You said that it was worse than expected.  It a shock to your system, in general.

Even is you are not up to par in two weeks, it's probably be wise to follow through on what the specialist found.  Just don't think about it until then.  I suspect for the sake of your peace of mind, you might well want to follow through by then.  :friends0:

Wow, I hope after 6-8 weeks you will be able to walk a lot better. It's not nice you have trouble concentrating on reading. I don't think I've ever read a Dr Seuss book (or maybe I have, if they were translated. I didn't pay attention to the authors when I was a little child), however I've heard they're great. Can you listen to music perhaps? I hope you feel better soon :friends0:. Remember we're always here if you want to chat.

Thanks Pixie

It`s sad that something else is thrown in your path, when you`re in that ` I just go though this and it`s over` mode.

We`re all thinking of you, Julie ! :empathy:
