Maureen Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 (edited) Well, I don't keep a list...but I bought the following three books at 99c each so I guess they are next on the list Mouth to Mouth by Michael Kimball Jumping to Conclusions by Christina Jones and The Dead Zone by Stephen King .................not my usual cup of tea..... Kell Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I'll be anxiously awaiting the outcome of The Dead Zone as it's a King I've not read yet... Quote
Maureen Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 I started it yesterday night. So far so good........... Quote
Maureen Posted October 31, 2005 Author Posted October 31, 2005 I'll be anxiously awaiting the outcome of The Dead Zone as it's a King I've not read yet... ....it's finished.....and it is very very good! I enjoyed it tremendously. I am afraid to say much more 'cause I do not want to give much away....but I'll try to write up a tiny review later. Quote
Kell Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Have you watched the TV series at all? I saw a few episodes here & there & it looked pretty good. I've never seen the movie yet though - I always seem to miss it when it's on! Quote
Maureen Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 I did not even know that it was a TV series or a movie. Will try to watch the movie one day. Quote
Kell Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 I think the film stars Christopher Walken (if I remember correctly). The TV show stars Anthony Michael Hall (of Wierd Science & The Breakfast Club). Quote
Maureen Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 Great...now I have an idea for a movie for a cosy night in.....I'm still waiting for the cold weather - this sounds nice while having a mug of coffee .........all snuggled up under a blanket Quote
Kell Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Well, if you fancy finding out a bit ore about the film before you watch it, you can check it our here http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0085407/ on IMDB. Enjoy! Quote
Maureen Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 Hey Thanks!! You know way back I used to hate Martin Sheen/Charlie Sheen. Now I've watched Charlie in a couple of comedies and have grown to like him. I just love his two and a half men! Quote
Kell Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Isn't it hilarious?! I was the same, but I love him when he's being funny - I adored Hot Shots & Hot Shots Part Deux - I laughed my fluffy bunny slippers off! Quote
Maureen Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 ...Was still lukewarm to him in Hot shots/Hot shots part deux. Started warming up to him watching Spin City..... Quote
Kell Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 See, that's where I disagree - Spin City just wasn't the same without Michael J Fox in it - that's when I stopped watching really & only caught a few episodes every now & then. Quote
Maureen Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 Nah...don't agree. There is something about MJF that rubs me the wrong way! Don't know exactly what, but he's not a fave of mine. And for this series, I really do think CS is funnier. Quote
Maureen Posted November 7, 2005 Author Posted November 7, 2005 Finished Jumping to Conclusions....but I will not bother with a review as it is too "airy fairy" for most people. I enjoyed it though - it is one of those fill in the blanks books - (between food courses sometimes you have some bread?....) Quote
Kell Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 In what way is it "airy fairy"? You've got my interest now - LOL! Quote
Maureen Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 Did you ever read Fiona Walker? It is those types of books - shy girl meets a bad reputation but kind hearted guy, they dilly dally all book long but finally end up together and live happily ever after kind of story - with ups and downs and battling against the odds thrown in for good measure.(Show jumping guy - takes part in competitions.....was going to get seriously wounded a couple of times) You do not have to think at all and can finish it in a day!! One nice thing about this story is that she opened a book shop and had quite a few good ideas................... Quote
Maureen Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 I just realised that I still wrote some sort of review after all!!! Quote
Kell Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 I've never read any Fiona Walker, but I'm going to have to keep an eye out for her stuff now! Quote
Maureen Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 Started "Mouth to Mouth" by Micheal Kimball. I am in the first chapter and can feel that someone is going to die soon............ Quote
Kell Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Is that a feeling of dread or of excitement, then? I know it depends on the book, but I always like to know these things... Quote
Maureen Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 Well I am excited....but do not know how and who is going to die....so it is a bit excitment filled with dread in a nice way(is that at all possible ?) Quote
Kell Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 I think I know what you mean - you don't think it's going to be a character you've grown to like & it'll be something interesting & want to know the details! Quote
Kell Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 LOL - I think we understand each other pretty well then . I often feel like that when reading a really good thriller - almost like I'm willing someone to get bumped off - not because I don't like them, but because I know it'll make the plot un-put-downable!
