I'm hoping so too.. How many books are there? Could we be here a while?  :readingtwo:  :readingtwo:  :readingtwo:  :readingtwo:  :readingtwo:  :readingtwo:    :giggle2:

I  haven't counted, but I think he only had two novels in the 90s. If it's not a novel, then there are his non-fiction stuff, and I haven't dared look at those yet... :D

Edit: Oh, wait, I've looked at the wrong years of publication for some... :D No wonder I thought they were in a weird order, not being in a chronological order... :D

It is The Book of Lies! Your turn now! Well, this one wasn´t as fun as the other ones. Everyone disappeared from the game. I just looked at the nonfiction and there is only one book under that and if you haven´t dared look at them, don´t  :giggle2:

Wohoo! :D Oh don't worry Sara, you just happened to choose a difficult book. Nothing wrong with that  :friends3:  Personally I've never even heard of the author.... But rest assured, it's always fun! One needs to use their gray brain cells... And it is kinda funny that I thought the book might be The Bad Beginning... :D

I'll come back with a quote soon...

Okay, this might possibly be very easy... But we'll give it a try anyways:

"The house stood on a slight rise just on the edge of the village. It stood on its own and looked out over a broad spread of X X farmland. Not a remarkable house by any means - it was about thirty years old, squattish, squarish, made of brick, and had four windows set in the front of a size and proportion which more or less exactly failed to please the eye."

The Hitchiker´s Guide to Galaxy! It´s one of my favourite books. I will look stupid if I´m wrong now

I read the whole ˝trilogy˝ in english just a month or two ago and I love Douglas Adams. I think if they turned our school books into novels I would do a lot better in school. It seems I remember them quite well.

Ok, here´s an easy one.

˝He never spoke of the softer passions, save with a gibe and a sneer. They were admirable things for the observer-excellent for drawing the veil from men´s motives and actions.˝

:D Yeah, Douglas Adams should write all school books! I like that idea... It might keep him busy for a while... :D

This one doesn't ring any kinds of bells with me. For the first time in the history of this game on here, I'm sure I've not read the book in question!

Let's see what others will have to say...

Hmmm, really? It' s really popular and well known. I meant in general, not Douglas Adams but that idea is so much better.

It might well be really popular and well known, maybe it's me being Finnish :)

Haha, you're Finnish? Why was I convinced you were English? Oh, well, you'll know it when you see what it is. You might not have read it but you'll know of it. :)

I have no idea :) It does say under my profile pic, next to every post I make, that I'm from Finland :)

Yeah, if you say it's well known, I must've heard of it, but so far, I don't think I've read it :)

I don't recognise the latest quote. But then again, I have read The HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy quite some years ago and didn't guess that one either :blush2:.

Is it written by a male author?

I'm a part time stalker! In and out of here on odd occasions.   :D

Hahaha, I didn´t mean you. When I space things out on my phone it posts it together. But it´s good to know. :P

It sounds quite old fashioned, so is it quite old? Maybe early 20th century?

It is, some of it is even older.
