Kylie Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I certainly did have fun looking at them! I loooove your bookshelves! So many awesome books there. And I love you have your bookmarks arranged in that box. I might steal that idea myself one day. I also love the boxes in the last pic. Where did you find such gorgeous boxes? I don't know if I missed it in a close up, but in one of the earlier pics you have two Justin Cronin books sitting on top of each other on the right side of the bookcase, and there are several other books with red spines on the left side. What are those books? Quote

What are those books? I believe you mean these ones? These are in the middle of the two taller bookcases, they have red spines. I got those boxes from reject shop, they were marking them down to get rid of, and I just had to have them. The little owl box that has my book depository bookmarks (and there are many), also came from there. Oh and this canvas print, which. I just adore! *goes to take picture* Edited August 21, 2014 by Devi Quote
Karsa Orlong Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Yes, I started it when I first got it. Got halfway and then health got in the way. Its been awhile since I started it, so I want to re-read the first half. I remember loving it though! Its my first Neal Asher. It's a great place to start with his stuff Quote
Timstar Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Love your shelves! Some great books there. Thanks for the photos Quote

I don't think I've ever seen anything so cool there! I rather like the idea of buying some plain wooden boxes like those and painting them (I'm not very creative, but if I found some stencils...) Thanks for the ideas! Quote

I went in there for laundry liquid, and spotted them on sale! I think I will be going in now and then more often to check if they get anymore good stuff in. Quote

I might have you beat on the Kindle books though I've always preferred paper books to e-books, but of late I have been loving having my kindle. My hands have been having trouble with paper books lately. Quote

My hands have been having trouble with paper books lately. I find a lot of people are in two minds about it, anything that encourages and/or enables people to read is great, but also hate to see the decline of real books. Hope you can manage to read your paper books for a long time to come! Quote

Hope you can manage to read your paper books for a long time to come! Its mostly the fatter books that hurt my hands the most, so I am struggling with holding the second Game of Thrones book, I manage one or two chapters a time before I have to stop. I wish I had got them on kindle now, but at the time of buying the paper copies my hands weren't this bad. I do have a book seat but it can only hold the thinner books. I'm hoping once our weather warms up, my hands will be less painful. Quote
Devi Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 Well... I wasn't going to purchase any books when I went out today but... Quote

I still find the kindle gets a bit heavy after awhile, but I have a cover for it, and can stand/lay it against something for support, so it means I can rest my hands and still be able to read. Quote
pontalba Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Just seeing your wonderful collections/pictures! Very organized and just beautiful! I love both boxes.....I do love owls, but the other one is gorgeous as well. I just love boxes anyhow. Quote
