poppy Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 (edited) Clive Dunn, best known for playing Lance-Corporal Jones in Dad's Army, has died at age 92. One of comedy's most loved characters. We'll miss you Jonesy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuple20I2vs (it doesn't seem to allow embedding so click link) http://youtu.be/tuple20I2vs Edited November 7, 2012 by poppy Quote
Janet Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 I was so sad to read this earlier. When I was a little girl I used to sing his song 'Grandad' to my own Grandad. I loved the character of Jonesy. RIP to a great man. Quote
Chrissy Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 What a great age though - 92. Looking at footage of him yesterday, it seems he always played od men, even when he was very young. He got the doddering down pat. Quote
SueK Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 (edited) I was very sad to hear this yesterday. I've grown up with Dad's Army and I still watch the repeats on BBC 2 on Saturdays - they still make me chuckle. Don't panic .......................... RIP Jonesy xx Edited November 8, 2012 by SueK Quote
Brian. Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I was very sad to hear this yesterday. I've grown up with Dad's Army and I still watch the repeats on BBC 2 on Saturdays - they still make me chuckle. RIP Jonesy xx Same here, Dad's Army must feature in the lives of so many people in the UK. I watched them as a child (that and Allo Allo) despite them being old then and still catch the repeats from time to time. Quote
