  1. I read both the JL Carrell books, and also felt a bit let down. That seems to be it for the series.
  2. Book 4 is free in a book series I recently discovered and love. UK - Lethal Property - Rosalind Burgess & Patricia Obermeier Neuman US version
  3. Recent book haul ; Couldn`t fit them all on one pic. My cat just jumped in front of the monitor, shouting ; apparently it`s my bedtime.
  4. I`m now 2/3 of the way through The Disappearance of Mavis Woodstock - Rosalind Burgess & Patricia Obermeier Neuman Loving it, and looking forward to the rest of the series.
  5. I`ve seen good things about the Evelyn Hardcastle book. I finished Whisker of a Doubt - Leighann Dobbs, which was a sweet read. Then I started The Disappearance of Mavis Woodstock - Rosalind Burgess & Patrica Obermeier Neuman, which is excellent so far.
  6. Whisker of a Doubt - Leighann Dobbs Willa Chance - a bookshop owner who sees ghosts after having a bad car accident - investigates another murder in the small town of Mystic Notch, alongside her magical cat Pandora, boyfriend Stryker and sister Gus ( Augusta ) , who's the town sherriff. It's a slight mystery rather than a densely plotted one, but the characters are likeable and there's some sweet interaction between the cat - who communicates telepathically - with her owner and also with the group of other magical cats, who are sworn to protect the town from Evil. A nice snuggly read.
  7. Yes, they were fun. I`m now reading Leighann Dobbs 6th book in the Mystic Notch series, Whisker of a Doubt.
  8. Six of SJ Rozan`s Lydia Chin/ Bill Smith PI books are available for 99p atm ( I`ve read the first 4 in the series and loved them ; I`ve just taken books 6-11 ). They`re more expensive in the US.
  9. It must be even later in Finland. Night night !
  10. One day, the stars will align - stars hollow pun - and I'll rush to put the GG dvds into the player. And if you're excited about watching anything else, then yay.
  11. I think I probably need 10 new bookcases. Or a decent sort out. Though, I do enjoy having a bookish big table ; it's a bit like a bookshop' s display table. When my reading mojo is good, I don't notice my book piles or overflowing bookcases ; when it's bad, I do suddenly have the need to tinker with the books. Maybe it's a control thing - if I fix the books, my mojo will reappear. Anyhow, fingers crossed for your bookcases.
  12. The Bigfoot Blunder - Amanda M Lee. A new series taking place in the Wicked Witches universe, and crossing over with the Winchester witches. Readable, but it didn't really click for me. The last two Winchester Witches novellas - I Dream of Twila ( Twila has to babysit the teenage Bay, Thistle and Clove, while dealing with Aunt Tillie, and coping with a con artist. A fun read. ) and How Aunt Tillie Stole Christmas ( a sweet Xmas story from Aunt Tillie's POV. )
  13. Ooh, cryptic. I think once I decide to watch them, I'll be enthralled - but right now, I'm behind with a bunch of shows and am playing catch up, so am not sure about watching GG and get further behind with tv. I've got a few eps still to watch of The Frankie Drake mysteries, How to get away with Murder, all the DC shows, Under the Surface ( a Danish hostage thriller ) and I'm sure there's stuff I've forgotten.
  14. Hmm. Can you put some pretty wallpaper on the back bit of the bookcases ? Arrange little knick-knacks in front of the books ? Or do you feel the books are in the wrong places ? We feel your pain.
  15. My dining room table has the book purchases for the past 18 months or so ; I have cleared them off the table - twice- but they mysteriously reappear. My knowledge of decluttering suggests that this means I need a bookcase in that location , or somewhere else as a designated dumping ground.
  16. What a shame. I keep thinking ` I`ll get to something at some point` but maybe the time has come for me to do a to-do list for fun stuff, so I make it a priority.
  17. Oooh, lovely lovely books ! It makes me want to run over to the diningroom table and cuddle my books. Is this wrong ? I don`t care.
  18. Brimstone Witch omnibus - April Fernsby. First 3 books free atm. Also in the US. :)
  19. I did, though I won`t bother with the next in the series. I also got 1/3 of the way trhough Amanda M Lee`s Moonstone Bay 1 ( Witchin` USA ) before deciding I wasn`t that involved in the story, and I tried a couple of pages of the same author`s first Avery Shaw Mystery ( didn`t click for me ). Then I read I Dream Of Twila, a Wicked Witches of the Midwest novella, which was very good ( it`s set in the past, with cousins Bay, Clove and Thistle as teenage witches alongside Twila, who`s babysitting them and Aunt Tillie, the mischief maker ).
  20. I`m almost up to 80 this year. Whee ! This is so sweet - man with cat lunchbox What a great role model.
  21. Deep State - Mark Strong as an ex-Spy who gets pulled back in for one last job. Ep 1 was excellent.
  22. I`m about 2/3 of the way trhough Amanda M Lee`s The Bigfoot Blunder. While I`m not enjoying it as much as her Wicked Witches books ( despite the crossover going on ) it`s readable. Unless something really exciting happens in the end though, I won`t bother with the 2nd of the series.
  23. Ooh, I love her writing style, and all those colours !
  24. My migraine`s feeling much, much better, so hopefully I`ll join in with the reading tonight. I`ve got the first 2 Charlie Rhodes books to read - I think the first is a crossover with the Wicked Witches of the Midwest series - and I have 2 Wicked Witches short stories/novellas still to read. Yay !
  25. Last night, it was the turn of : A Witchmas Carol and All My Witches, books 4 and 5 of the Wicked Witches of the Midwest fantasy books. Book 4 was nice and readable ( if a bit message-y ; the message being, Don`t Mess With Aunt Tillie. ) , Book 5 was a funny take on US TV Soaps from a Witch-y perspective. I may not have got all the in-jokes, but it was a good read.
