No I haven't, and strangely have never even thought of them. Oh dear, I feel a bit guilty that I had only thought of her writings in context to Dorothy L Sayers. Oops!
There are far too many books out there to keep up anyway....
-
I just had a peek at your book list. Well done on reading all those books !
-
I love the Lord Peter Wimsey series, and have been impressed by Jill Paton Walsh's continuation of them. The Attenbury Emeralds were great, although I was a tad less happy with The Late Scholar, which I felt missed the mark at times.
It will be good to see what JPW comes up with, especially now the next generation Wimseys and Bunters are getting older.
I wasn`t fussy - I enjoyed all the continuations.
Have you tried any of Jill Paton Walsh`s other books ? I read The Wyndham Case, but wasn`t enthused by it.
-
I hope you can get it sorted
. It sounds like a hassle.
It was okay. They sorted it out within hours - full refund and I can keep the book too.
-
Hurray ! Jill Paton Walsh is writing another Lord Peter Wimsey book. I`ve read her other ones, continuing Dorothy L Sayers` series, so I`m thrilled that there`s going to be another one.

How exciting! I hope you like them
.
The book`s arrived already !
Looking forward to reading it.
I also ordered a book by Frances Crane, called The Applegreen Cat ; unfortunately, someone read a book code wrong and I`ve been sent a non-fiction book set in the Middle East by Joseph Braude called The Honoured Dead ( which does look interesting, anyway
). I`ve emailed the bopokseller to sort it out.

Pixie and Madeline, I actually found I'm enjoying them! She is more likeable in the tv series than in the books. I'm on episode 3, I think there are six. I'm sure I'll have watched them all by tomorrow.
Hurray !

I hate it when that happens, peacefield. I'd not heard of the film, but I've just looked it up, as like you, I like Sam Rockwell and I love Anna Kendrick too. What was so bad about it?
I love the original Cheaper By The Dozen too! Myrna Loy was great, wasn't she - I love her in Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House.
Another vote for Myrna Loy !
Love Crazy is one of my favourites, as well as Mr Blandings and all the Thin Man films.

I subscribe to Acorn TV because they have so many of the British shows I love. I recently got wind of a new mystery series by M.C. Beaton called Agatha Raisin. The books were ok but hoping the show will be alright.
I liked the first one - TV movie length. Then it switched to 42 mins per ep, and I gave up after watching a few of those. Hopefully, you`ll like them better.

Sounds great !
EDIT - Well, you know what you said.
It`s disappeared for some reason.

Not only the cows, sea life is being rescued where the seabed has been lifted by the quake
(paua are abalone).
Do hope you don't find there's any more damage Bookmonkey. They built the Housing NZ houses pretty sturdily, so fingers crossed for you
Fingers crossed too.
That`s some funny looking sea creatures ! How nice that people are rescuing them.

What?! Anything - (minus) is too cold for me as a maximum temperature! We had -15 °C here a few years ago, not as a maximum temperature though but part of the day, and it was extremely cold. I can't imagine thinking - 20 °C being warmer!
I know ! Some people are tough !
We had -20C a few years ago too, and had ice on the river. It was just astonishing.
-
Aw, that hat is cute !
-
that sounds scary!
Here the temperature is around 7 °C - 11 °C maximum and we get a lot of rain.
It`s 2-7 C here now.
I Skyped my cousin in Siberia this week - she says it`s much warmer there now - it`s up to -20C.

Oh my! You guys got hit with a tornado! Smart cat!
Its pretty mild here today. Kinda driving me crazy. Cold one day, warm the next. Kids a school (university) sneezing, wheezing, hacking, coughing all over the place. I just hope and pray that I can hold out a little while longer and not catch what they have. They're like walking biohazards, lol! I want to put on a Hazmat suit before entering the lecture and lab rooms.
I find supermarkets the worst place to pick up the Dreaded Lurgi.
-
Windy ! Cat refuses to go out - plant pots are rolling round the garden - and tornadoes nearby ! Click.

My current favourite (former) publisher is Main Line Mysteries - JB Lippincott. Some of their books are HERE. They published the Frances & Richard Lockridge books, and have lovely thick paper with deckle edges.
I also have lots of Henry Holt/Owl books ; Patricia Moyes murder mysteries have great covers, with a skull hidden on the cover.

Thanks so much Little Pixie and Chrissy
Will endeavour to do so!
I'm between Nelson and Motueka, Bookmonkey. Not too much damage here, things falling off supermarket shelves and some power lines exploded in Nelson putting the power out to parts. The schools were all shut yesterday while they checked for structural damage, but this area got off lightly. There was a worry about tsunamis earlier, especially with the supermoon and king tides, but the danger is over now. I've been watching GeoNet and the number of large aftershocks is unbelievable! Read they're taking navy ships into Kaikoura tomorrow and helicoptors are bringing in supplies and flying some people out.
The biggest earthquake I`ve been in was a 5.1 - Yours was...... 800 times bigger ?!
Hurray that the cows have been rescued.
Click.

Thanks Chrissy. There's still a lot of quite severe aftershocks, but most we don't feel here. One town, Kaikoura, is cut off with slips and could take days to clear. A lot of tourists are in that area so poor things are wondering what the heck has struck them and when they'll be able to get out. But thankfully only two fatalities.
It looks so scary on the news. Stay safe !

I was enjoying Leave Me by Gayle Foreman, but I found out my dog- soul mate- has cancer and I've been too upset to continue. It's been quite the week.
Oh no ! I'm so sorry to hear your news.

Ooh, Amy Tan is one of my favourite authors ! The Bonesetters Daughter is excellent, hope you like it.
Off to look up Purge.

Thank you. She is on the mend. I went to see her this morning and she was sitting up in bed much more like her usual self, but still a bit shaky, which is understandable. It was a punctured lung, but they are keeping a good eye on her and the staff on the unit have been brilliant to both of us. The Doctor came round while I was there and he said that she could go home today if she wished, but the staff nurse thought it best to keep her in for one more night just to be on the safe side. This seemed sensible to me as well, so this is what we have agreed. I will go and see her again then a bit later on for evening visiting and hopefully tomorrow morning she should be okay to come home. It was all a bit dramatic though !
Glad she`s on the mend.
But still - yikes !
-
Talisman, how scary.
I hope your partner makes a speedy recovery.

Hah! Hah! Not even in the slightest degree.
Nah, this is the detritus of several generations of "junque" that my family has managed to collect. I'm the last of the Mohicans, so I'd better clear it up.
My Uncle told me 20 years ago that he was sorry to leave me to manage it, but he just couldn't face it. S'ok, I'm doin' it.
I`m slowing reading my through her 2nd book, Spark Joy oslt. Slowly does it, so I don`t get scared....
Well done on tackling everything.
