  1. I used to love Maura as Abby Lockhart on ER, used to love the Abby and Luka scenes! Have you noticed that there is a Lockhart family in The Affair too?
  2. Very warm today in the sun in Surrey, particularly this afternoon, was at athletics so kids hot but lovely for us spectators!
  3. Made some lovely Watermelon Cooler this afternoon.. The kids don't like it, such a shame!
  4. Thanks Kylie (and Paula!!) I can't wait for this one! I need to finish I Am Pilgrim first! I received The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah in the post this week, I must get to it soon as I've heard really good things about it!
  5. Sorry to hear your sad news Noll, pets are such a huge part of our lives and I understand how devastating it is to lose them.
  6. She plays a great character in Luther too!
  7. The Affair, episode 3, I'm quite enjoying it now, wasn't sure at first..
  8. I've now started The Last Days of Rabbit Hayes by Anna McPartlin, pretty good so far.
  9. She is gorgeous, maybe we should have dog themed photos!
  10. I finished The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, not that impressed, very formulaic for the genre, teen paranormal, very predictable so a degree of skim reading was employed toward the end of the book. Nicely written though so toying with 2/5 or 3/5. I think I will give the Book Box a miss for my next book as my mojo is feeling a little jaded and needs perking up!
  11. Homemade chicken soup, tasty and filling!
  12. I'm very happy to hear you had a lovely birthday but sad to hear about the tokens..fingers crossed they'll turn up somewhere at some point, everything I lose tends to turn up in the car somewhere for some reason!
  13. I'm not sure how much we will achieve in August with three kids in tow but I would like to visit Santa Maria della Concezione which has 4000 skeletons!!!
  14. It's boiling hot now? Jeez, I dread to think how warm it'll be in August when we visit!
  15. You've worked so hard BB and the end is in sight! Will your job change when you qualify?
  16. Ah I see Noll, I rarely read books and judge how relatable the characters are, I'm very much on the outside looking in if that makes any sense? I'm a big fan of good writing and descriptions and I felt she did that well.
  17. Really Noll? I loved it!! I'll have to try and find your review!
  18. Great book!
  19. I want to see Man Up too, and you would ideally watch PP1 before watching PP2 anyway.
  20. I have The Affair on my Sky planner, maybe I'll try the first episode this ending.. Maybe with a glass of wine!
  21. Welcome Catherine, nice to have another dog owner/lover on the forum.. Interesting way to measure your TBR pile, there are peeps on here that would need giraffes!
  22. I loved Pitch Perfect and have watched it, or parts of it several times, Pitch Perfect 2 wasn't as good sadly but the final scene swung it for me a bit. Yesterday I took my 10 year old to see Avengers - Age of Ultron, we both thoroughly enjoyed it and it's much better for him now he can understand the humour and not just enjoy the action.
  23. Strawberries with balsamic vinegar.. Why have I not tried this combination before?!
  24. I'm reading The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, it's ok but a bit slow, needs to pick up a bit.
