  1. Thanks Poppyshake, I'll take a look :-). I think I'll wait to see if she mentions it again....
  2. All the Man That I Need - Whitney Houston (RIP)

  4. Saving All My Love For You - Whitney Houston (RIP)
  5. Apparently it is a 12A Poppy? My daughter wants to see it but I think she'd be terrified!! We just got back from Journey 2 Mysterious Island, it was actually pretty entertaining :-)
  6. Ok, I have (hopefully) finally worked out how to do this... I couldn't find a recent pic just of me as when you have kids you only ever seem to take pictures of them or have yours taken with them! So this is me with my 3 lovely kiddies.. Sorry it's a bit big, how do I change that? Ironically I used tinypic.com
  7. I know what to read now! I just got a proof copy of A Land of Decoration by Grace McCleen from Waterstones which was one of their Waterstones 11, their pick of the best debut novels of 2012, as brought to our attention by the lovely Poppyshake. I'll hopefully start it today, just have my sons 7th birthday party to get through first! http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/products/grace+mccleen/the+land+of+decoration/8613106/
  8. Finished All Quiet on the Western Front last night, definitely a book that got better and better the further I got into it... Not sure what to read next, I need to take a look at my TBR shelf. :-)))
  9. How was it?
  10. Wow, that's a lotta books!!!!! I'm so jealous!
  11. And to keep it low - Relax - Frankie Goes To Hollywood
  12. I'm about half way through All Quiet On The Western Front, it's a great read but I'm finding it hard to remember that I'm reading from the German side of things as there are very few differences so far with things I have read about British experiences in WWI trench warfare..
  13. How sad that you are getting used to receiving bad news Julie, but you seem to handling everything very well to me, and having people to talk to must help so always feel free to vent here. I'm a bit of a worrier too, I think most women are as it is our way of getting things done! My OH doesn't worry enough so I end up worrying for the both of us otherwise nothing would get done!!! For example I just got back from my youngest sons celebration assembly, and had asked Steve to pick up our elder son from school for his orthodontist appointment, luckily I got back a bit earlier than expected as he had totally forgotten!!!! (Luckily I had told him 10 mins earlier than he needed to be there anyway )
  14. Definitely a bargain!! I just looked in Joss Stirling's website, Seeking Crystal isn't due out until Valentines Day 2013!!! :-(
  15. Did you read the first one, Finding Sky, first Chesil? I really enjoyed both :-))
  16. I'm just watching The Ten O'Clock Show with David Mitchell, he now has a beard, I'm not sure it's his best look! http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/edinburgh/2011/photossat13/ You'll need to scroll down a little bit (sorry, I've not figured out how to put pics on here yet!) What do you think?
  17. Falling Away With You - Muse (AMAZING song!!)
  18. Adjustment Bureau - 7/10 ish!
  19. If you like the pictures you may like this - http://www.ransomriggs.com/blog/2011/1/7/talking-pictures.html
  20. Hi Shelley, I really enjoyed it too, I found it charming, the children had wonderful characters, so unique yet capturing the era beautifully...
  21. Thanks Ben, it's going on the wish list now! :-)
  22. Ok, just finished Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and The Forest of Hands and Teeth so that takes my 2012 total so far up to 7 (see post 4 on this log), so I'm definitely on target to reach 50 books this year, happy days!!! I've now started All Quiet on the Western Front as I have heard such good things about it, it's very jolly at the moment but I can imagine it's going to get grimmer very soon, I have read a few books about WWI but I'm hoping reading about it from the German side will bring a new perspectI've to it for me....
