  1. Mission: Impossible, Ghost Protocol. Surprised by how much I enjoyed this, it was laughable in some areas but also some great action and heavy tension. I have never been a fan of the previous movies but this one felt much better! Also going to see Skyfall tonight
  2. I finished it, it was enjoyable but probably not as good as the first two.
  3. We Need to Talk about Kevin, it was quite good, and quite disturbing.
  4. Having a break from Elantris to read Dexter in the Dark
  5. A french film called Martyrs. Definitely the most disturbing, horrifying film I have ever seen.
  6. More reviews coming soon! Been a bit busy lately. Also made a few purchases from eBay and got a couple of Birthday presents Jack Vance - The Dragon Masters Carl Sagan - Cosmos Isaac Asimov - The Naked Sun Chuck Palahniuk - Haunted Bret Easton Ellis - The Informers A bit strange... my Dragon Masters book says that Jack Vance was born in 1920 but all the website I've seen say 1916, you'd think they would check that sort of thing
  7. They certainly need to do something, they can't continue to charge RRP prices for most of their books and compete with Amazon.
  8. It's on my wishlist! that's the best I can do for now
  9. I do have a kindle, so when I end up on the bread line, i'm blaming you...d**k
  10. The latest version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I enjoyed it but it really didn't add anything that the previous adaptation lacked. I am fan of of Daniel Craig and a big one of David Fincher but this just seems like an unnecessary, money-making gambit. They couldn't get away with changing the names and places so they just settled for changing the nationalities and accents of the characters... pointless.
  11. Valerie by Amy Winehouse exceeded the popularity of the original Zutons version, but was by no means any where near as good. I put this down to most people not having heard the original... but it could be the general poor taste of music that this country seems to have.
  12. Oh dear, I was really hoping to like Nevill and heard lots of good stuff so I bought Apartment 16 and The Banquet for the Damned. I gave up on Banquet as it was tediously boring, and also lacked atmosphere and characters worth investing in. I have put off reading Apartment 16 in the hope that if I approach with a fresh outlook I will enjoy it more. Maybe this is not the case....
  13. Read Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke and In the Tall Grass by Stephen King and Joe Hill, both were very good and I will post proper reviews soon. Still working my way through Elantris, i'm enjoying it but it is a bit slow paced at the moment.
  14. Amazon Prime has been around for years, not sure what all the perks are but this borrowing Kindle books is just another one added. I wouldn't recommend it just to borrow a dozen books a year.
  15. The paperwhite technology seems pretty good, but i'll stick with my one for now.
  16. Just downloaded the new short story by Stephen King and his son, Joe Hill, In the Tall Grass for 99p http://www.amazon.co.uk/In-the-Tall-Grass-ebook/dp/B009K2AJB4/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1349905134&sr=1-1 Also a page for his upcoming novel, Joyland, but no release date yet. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Joyland-Stephen-King/dp/1781162646/ref=pd_sim_sbs_kinc_1
  17. Welcome! Your definitely in the right place
  18. Blue Planet. Amazing!
  19. I'm not keen on Martin Freeman, he was terrible as Arthur Dent and not great in anything else i've seen. I am willing to give him a try as Bilbo though. But mainly because I want to like the film.
  20. Very impressive Kylie! Love the vintage posters
  21. Yeah, definitely one of the scarier King's. Doesn't quite beat 'IT' though.
  22. Good review Steve, Spatterjay is still on my wishlist. But I really need to get my TBR pile down!
  23. and so they should! You can see my full review here
