  1. As your name is the name of a website, I'm afraid it contravenes forum rules. Please choose another user name and contact one of the staff and we will change it for you. Thank you.

  2. You should read Devil in the White City. Crazy thing... it actually happened.
  3. From all the reviews... I wanted to hate the book... but did not. I did not think it was incredible either. Same thing with the movie. cheers.. twingijon
  4. I completely agree. Wicked was... so wickedly good!! Confessions.. not so much. But Son of a Witch.. right back there. So he has this genre and maybe he should stick with the land of Oz. Maguire just released his 4th in the series. I have not read #3 cause I do not want it to end. cheers... twingijon
  5. I think just as many teens read as had in the past. The key is getting hooked into a series. Once you are... you cannot wait for the next one. That is why Potter (which I loved) and Twilight (which I never read) are so popular. The fact is that there are so many more series out there than there was 10... 20... 30 years ago.
  6. What about Like Water for Chocolate. There are 12 chapters and everyone not only starts off with a dish... but also the recipe for it!! cheers... twingijon
  7. You know... Most recent.. has to be Water for Elephants. It's not that the movie was bad.. it was the ending. I was in tears at the end of the book (not going to give anything away) and the end of the movie had no where near that punch. I think they missed out on an incredible chance. Who knows?? Maybe it is the type of ending one can only create with words. cheers.. twingijon
  8. With out a doubt... Shogun. Very good book and that scene when the ninjas attacked? Just what you are looking for. cheers... twingijon
  9. Voltage... May not be what you are looking for... but... Devil in the White City has a serial killer that is just spooky... and it happened. There are 2 stories there... so you would have to deal with the Chicago exposition... which is a fabulous yarn. Also... The Historian just gave me goosebumps. I mean... Dracula was a serial killer... right? cheers... twingijon
  10. Pillars of the Earth is awesome!!! Maybe part of the reason I enjoyed it so much is that I am an architect. The descriptions are just superb. I do have to say that the made for tv series was very disappointing. It had a chance to be on par with Deadwood and Rome... but just fell flat. cheers twingijon
