I haven't paid full price for a book in ages. I'd consider it if I could trust authors to actually use the characters they put into crime novels as opposed to just plucking someone from thin air at the end . Ah now page 400 erm It was a guy down the road wot dunnit.

when I buy authors I already have, I look for deals in supermarkets or online. Sometimes I do find them in charity shops. When looking for someone new I will tend to try charity shops. I do browse in bookshops but I don't tend to buy.

Finding Mark billingham, Good As Dead to be a slog. After reading In The Dark, Which I Didn't enjoy, He's now put Pc Weekes into his Thorne set. Nooooo! Going to finish it then try Steig larsson. Got the earlier Jo nesbo's coming soon so hopefully I should be alright for a couple of months.

I'm looking forward to the Dark knight rises, probably going to leave the hobbit until I can see both parts together.

The last two cds I bought, were Tragic idol by Paradise lost and A fragile king by Vallenfyre. I quite like the lyrics to Tragic idol. Does anyone know any other artists with the melodic and uplifting style of Paradise lost. Ground below just save me save me from it all, ground below embrace me, dark the soul that saves me. It's about playing on a bouncy castle, surely.

Prometheus, have to disagree with timstar, Where were the guns, the action? All the silly plot twists from alien---s without the excitement or scares. Haven't seen a good film in ages. Safe wasn't too bad.

About halfway through , but I've put it down as it's got a bit slow. Won't be trying anymore if he keeps the new charcter in. So in conclusion if you don't bother with In the dark (not thorne) and also don't bother with good as dead, then Thorne is a good series. Basically he writes out a character that doesn't fulfill a scenario then replaces them with another character that does. What's the point?

I,ve now finished my 5 Mo Hayder Jack Caffery books. I enjoyed them all despite the move to bristol and the addition of Flea. I reccomend these books .

Only to borrow cds from. Don't use it to find new authors. Went today and actually found some paperbacks, Richard Montanari, The echo man and Quintin Jardine, Grievous angel. I promise next time to look in the Sci-fi section. I saw The Bat - Jo Nesbo. in a read it quickly section. It said Read within a week No renewals. I could probably do it if I borrowed it on a friday.
