Thank you everybody. Sawadee khrap Maureen. Women say sawadee khaa. If you come to Chiang Mai you can tell me on forum or with message and I would be happy to meet you. If you wish to go to Vietnam by plane from here, you are correct cannot fly straight from Chiang Mai to Vietnam. You have to go to Bangkok. Or you can also fly to Laos and connect from there. However lady I know runs tour bus from here to Vietnam, including Halong Bay, and is very cheap.

The best non-fiction book I ever read about East Germany was Man Without a Face, which was the biography of Markus Wolf, who was head of the foreign intelligence branch of Stasi during Cold War. The fictional one I enjoyed most was Rift Zone, by Raelynn Hillhouse, who herself supposedly smuggled antiques and other stuff over border from East to West Germany.

Greetings. I have never read any jane Austen books but I thought maybe of interest people here is mystery novel I got from library called Jane and the Ghosts of Netley by Stephanie Barron. It is one of series of mysteries in which Jane Austen solves crimes. It is supposedly realistic regarding Jane Austen's life and character and is also a very suspenseful and puzzling mystery.

I am reading novel called Counter Attack by Mark Abernethy. So far it is very exciting. It is written by an Australian and is about Australian agent trying to stop Chinese agents from starting a nuclear war. I read many books with a similar plot but this one seems better than most, at least so far.
