  1. Great review. It sounds intriguing; I've added it to my wishlist.
  2. I'm looking forward to it, but also dreading it at the same time because of how sad it will be. Nah, as long as they are free, it's all good!
  3. I've just had chicken breast stuffed with sage and onion stuffing, and wrapped in bacon. Mmmmm...
  4. Added to my wishlist as well. This sounds fascinating!!
  5. Thanks, Weave. Today I bought Mirage Men, which was the Kindle Daily Deal, and I borrowed The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. More added to the list.
  6. Hi - I have to admit I've never done it, but when I log onto my local library I can get a list of books available for download. Granted the selection is quite limited, but they are putting more and more on there. I know you have to have an account an PIN, which is presumably my library card number, and I'm guessing that the book gets automatically deleted 3 weeks after download. I will try this one day, but I haven't yet seen anything on there that I desperately like to read. Try visiting your local library's website - they may have more information on there.
  7. I went to the library today and borrowed The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. Recommended to me by a work-colleague. I think I'll need tissues from what she has told me.
  8. Songbird by Fleetwood Mac, because of this:
  9. Oh no, you mustn't read the spoiler!! That would be like reading the last page of a book before you start it. Unforgivable! I do think it would ruin your enjoyment of the book if you know what the spoiler was. I certainly wouldn't have enjoyed it half as much if I'd known what was going to happen. Sorry, I'm just adding to the mystery even more, aren't I? Thanks, but it may take me a while to get through those books I've bought. I mean, I have so many new ones to read, and for some reason I've decided to re-read Rose Madder. No regrets though, because it's such a great book with a likeable main character who goes though some life changing events. I like to read non-fiction, but I find some of it heavy going and quite hard to retain. But a lot of the non-fiction I have bought so far seems to be quite 'trivia' based, which is more up my alley and easier for me to understand. We'll see when I get around to reading it though! Happy reading back to you too.
  10. I'm about 50% through Rose Madder. It's a re-read but I'm really enjoying it.
  11. Hi Ophelia - no I'm in the UK.
  12. Just eaten a Kit Kat. I feel guilty now, but it sure was yummy!

I had a mint KitKat, and loved every morsel! : D

  13. My local library allows you to borrow books on the Kindle, so it has become more available than it used to be.
  14. I know what you mean. I finally read Pride and Prejudice a couple of years ago, and I didn't like it. I don't understand why it constantly tops 'Books You Must Read' lists or the fuss everyone makes over Mr Darcy. Having said that, I am planning on reading Wuthering Heights at some point because I've heard so much about it, but I do think contemporary books are more my style.
  15. I finished Killing Floor by Lee Child, and I feel like re-reading some Stephen King. Either Rose Madder or Insomnia. I know those aren't the most popular of his books, but I really like them. I also bought today's Daily Kindle Deal, which is Small Steps by Louis Sachar. This is a semi-sequel to Holes. From what I can tell it follows one of the minor characters from Holes, a few years later.
  16. ^....For £95!! I think an illustrated version would be great, but I just couldn't fork out that amount of money!
  17. Had my haircut. Feeling human again, lol.

  18. I've just had last night's Chinese leftovers for an early lunch. Boiled and fried rice, with crispy chicken in a spicy sauce. Absolutely delicious!
  19. I need a haircut - I look scruffy!!

  20. 'Tis a good one. It got really good reviews on Amazon, but quite a few 'professional reviews' (ie. in magazines/newspapers, etc), said it fell short of the mark, and was a bit pretentious. I don't know what they're on about; I thought it was a great story.
  21. Sounds like a very moving book. I have added it to my wishlist.
  22. Great review. Gadgets are so much fun, but they always take a bit of time to get used to. I hope it gets released in the UK soon, but I read somewhere that it won't be released here until the 'cloud' is more developed. Also I don't know if there is the ability on Amazon UK to download films, which I think is one of the big selling points of the Kindle Fire. I could be wrong though.
  23. I've just had a Bounty. I'm sure these are sweeter than I remember. I feel a bit sick.
  24. I'm now reading Killing Floor by Lee Child, the first in the Jack Reacher series. I've only heard of these because of all the fuss made about Tom Cruise playing the main character. I don't know enough about the character yet to comment, but at least it's a nice and energetic read, which is something I need right now. If I read anything slow, I fear I may fall asleep.
  25. That's good to hear, even if it is too late for me! It would be good if they could provide an automatic swap for those who have purchased an imperfect version.
