  1. I finished Emotional Geology and I am thinking of writing a review, as I see so many do here. I have never really tried to write one before, but I think I am ready for a new challenge. Anyway, as I couldn't put the book down, I think it quite obvious my review will be positive. I will be reading Moby Dick next. Oh, and I received Invisible by Paul Auster in the mail today.

  3. 1. I am agnostic. 2. I sometimes like animals more than people. 3. I am employed by a very large drug store chain in the USA. 4. I am bisexual. 5. I am half Italian.
  4. Meh. It's okay. I have to go to work soon, which is sometimes a bummer for me. I see you are a fan of Flowers For Algernon. What a beautiful, but heart-wrenching book. I love it! It's my favorite. I hope your day is going well.

  5. I have not been able to put this book down (except to grab a tissue and bawl my head off) and now I have to because it's about time to leave for work. I already have Star Gazing and just ordered A Lifetime Burning which I had to purchase used. It was all I could find here in the US.
  6. Thanks for the friendship add. :friends0:

  7. I am almost half way through Emotional Geology already! This book is wonderful with very real characters and a rich understanding of the human psyche. Thank you to Chrissy for recommending Linda Gillard's work.
  8. I just finished reading The Exorcist. I am generally not much of a horror fan, but this book was actually a page turner for me. I will be starting on Emotional Geology by Linda Gillard soon.
  9. I am two chapters away from finishing The Exorcist. Unfortunately, I can't finish it right now because I must go to work soon. Pesky job.
  10. :)Thank you for the friendship add.

  11. Heh. I do the same thing in such situations. Are you kidding me? Being a mother of six must be very challenging and is a life-time learning experience. It wouldn't make me assume that you didn't have anything worthwhile to say.
  12. Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal - Christopher Moore
  13. I read as fast as I can without having to compromise my understanding of what I am reading.
  14. Frankly, what others do with their books doesn't bother me. What does vex me is purchasing a book on-line that the seller claims to be in "new" or "like new" condition and when it arrives it is clearly not so.
  15. I think Of Human Bondage by W. Somerset Maugham would fit what you are looking for perfectly. Emotional journey -check Suffer heartbreak - check Digging into the meaning of life - check

  17. Ummm.... Muffin Willowbrook I don't think I would make it in the porn industry.
  18. This one is being shipped to me next week. I love Paul Auster. It sounds like a good one!
  19. This is like asking me to choose between butter pecan or cookies 'n' cream flavors of ice cream. Both are so pleasing to the palate, but require different taste buds.
  20. It's okay. I embarrass easily. I would be glad to give my feedback on your books. I always try my best to give constructive criticism and praise. Sometimes, though, an author may write well and has a good story to tell, and it is just a difference in personalities or preferences between the author and the reader. But I don't think merely stating "I loved it!" or "I loathed it!" is very helpful , so I always try to put some thought into my reasons for liking or disliking what I have read. I am looking forward to reading both that I have ordered. In fact, when I am done with the one I am currently reading, Emotional Geology will be next.
