  1. You should try starter for ten or one day, both by David Nicholls
  2. Sounds like you are doing all the right things! I swear by plenty of rest, pure orange, paracetamol and chicken soup! Get well soon!
  3. I ordered this from the library on 17th August and have still not received it. I decided to call them yesterday and it appears that there are 50 people in the queue before me waiting to read this book! I consoled myself by buying The Girl You Left Behind as it is in Asda Charts at the moment.
  4. While Grand Prix and Football on today, I am going to try to make a dent in my book! If only I can stay off the laptop!

  5. Can't believe I forgot about this one, the passage by Justin Cronin - good time to read it as the next book in series is released at end of next month - the twelve.
  6. Loved the movie but hated the book I'm afraid!
  7. What about trying a Cassandra Clare book! Have not read her myself but she seems to get good reviews.
  8. I bought 7 new books this week and then went to the library today and got out 5 books! I think I have a problem! I have come to the right place!

    Hello

Welcome! I love Agatha Christie but only started reading her books a few years ago!
  10. I kept expecting Steve Carell to be funny! He was excellent in a serious role.
  11. I love this programme! Such addictive viewing and one of the most relaxing programmes to watch. I love all the history parts and information!
  12. As it was our wedding anniversary last weekend (11 years). I dragged hubby to see Hope Springs with Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones Let's just say that I really enjoyed it! I watched it on Sky Premiere a couple of weeks ago and although I enjoyed it, I can't help feeling that I would not have if I had not read the book! I also thought that they left loads out? Any thoughts?
  13. Iris, Goo goo dolls! My hubby bought me Classic FM at the movies, all instrumental but a really great listen! (3 discs)
  14. What a great line-up for this year, plus a new judge! Let's get the party started! Can't wait!
  15. Looking forward to this one also. I am a big fan of the Northern Lights trilogy and fairy tales are massive at the moment with the release of snow white and the huntsman, mirror mirror, and tv shows such as Grimm and Once Upon a time!
  16. This book was released in April but it is one that I have noted down. It kind of matches your description. The Lifeboat by Charlotte Rogan. Hope you find out the name cos I hate when this happens - I have started to carry a notebook around so I can make a note of recommendations!
  17. I have just hit my 50 mark! I am just reading books as they are recommended to me or as I see them in library/shop for example. I always fail at those lists e.g. books to read before you die!
  18. Sorry if this has already been covered but I am now on the last book (Mockingjay) and so far have managed to avoid the film. I intend to watch it once I am done. Anyway point being, are there any plans for two more movies?

  20. Ship of Dreams, Martina Devlin Whilst researching this book, the author discovered that a distant relation was on board Titanic. What I enjoyed about this book is that it follows a handful of people a year after the tragedy, although it is fiction you find yourself drawn to these people and care about what happens to them and it also shows how they cope with grief and how they try to get on with their lives the best they can. Very enjoyable!
  21. You could try Lord of the Flies, William Golding I have never read it but I think I watched a film or a series when I was younger. OR The Beach, Alex Garland I read the book and watched the film - both really good!
  22. I don't mind at all. I actually went into Eason and bought a hardback Hello Kitty Notebook! At the back of the book I have a list of recommended books which I am trying to slot in to my reading throughout the year.
