  1. Frankie, these books are on my TBR List. I also have a separate list for classics and if I get through all these this year I will be happy. I think there are 15 books in total. I intend to start into these lists at beginning of March as some have been on my bookshelf for a while. Think I will leave Small Island to the end as I just watched the BBC Adaptation in January.
  2. The Elegance of the Hedgehog - Muriel Barbery Ship of Dreams - Martina Devlin Small Island - Andrea Levy The Other Woman - Jane Green The Book of Tomorrow - Cecilia Ahern Mercy - Jodi Picoult The Tenth Circle - Jodi Picoult
  3. What a great idea! Having checked my list, I came across two books which I have read in the last couple of years so I will not accept your challenge this time round. 1977 is my year. The Shining, Stephen King The Thorn Birds, Colleen McCullough I loved them both!
  4. Chicken Fajitas, yum!
  5. I know it has already been mentioned but the one that sprung to mind for me was The Book Thief, Marcus Zusak.
  6. The Book Thief, Marcus Zusak Liked the look of the cover and the story did not disappoint me when I finally bought the book.
  7. In no particular order: - The Count of Monte Cristo, Alexandre Dumas Dracula, Bram Stoker Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen Don Quixote, Cervantes Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte The Moonstone, Collins The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  8. Read The Pursuit of Happiness It is brilliant! I was disappointed with the woman in the fifth.
  9. Slice of toast with butter, lemon green tea and a mint viscount.
  10. Jane Eyre Wuthering Heights Rebecca I have also mentioned on another thread that I am determined to read Pride and Prejudice and Don Quixote this year.
  11. Went to see Avatar yesterday afternoon and what can I say I loved it! It was amazing and I did not see the time go in at all. I have heard people say that it did not need to be that long but I honestly don't see what they could have left out. 10/10 for me. Pure escapism.
  12. Thanks. I just joined last week and am still finding my feet!
  13. I did read that a few years ago and did find it quite disturbing. I will never learn cos I did pick up and read a few more of his books after that. Have to say though the other one that stayed with me for a few weeks after was Misery. I watched the film years ago, think I was in my teens and loved it but when I read the book for the first time a few years ago, scared the life out of me. That was one sick lady!!! His older books were definitely the best!
  14. I just bought this book in Tesco last night for
  15. I have not read any of his books but have enjoyed the following films: - The Notebook Nights in Rodanthe Message in a bottle Not sure how they compare to the books?
  16. Not necessarily in this order: - 1. Ron Weasley Harry Potter Books 2. Harry Bosch Michael Connelly Books 3. Jacob Black Twilight Series 4. Rebecca Bloomwood Shopaholic Series 5. Holly P.S. I love you
  17. Jodi Picoult does have new book coming out in March called House Rules. Sounds really good but lets face it, aren't they all. I read Handle with Care just before Christmas.
  18. I saw an advert on t.v. last night and Going Postal is coming to Sky 1 soon. Sky also did Hogfather and The Colour of Magic. I have never read any of his books but have enjoyed these.
  19. I loved this book. Read it about 4 years ago and probably should buy it incase I feel a re-read coming on. I bought the film but am reluctant to watch it just yet!
  20. I also bought a Bagpuss magnetic bookmark and now I wonder how I ever managed without it. I always used bookmarks but on occasion the bookmark did fall out whilst in my bag, for example. Can't stand when people fold over pages, grrrr
  21. The last movie I saw in cinema was Sherlock Holmes. I feel that if Avatar is still showing in cinema at weekend I should really go to see what all the fuss is about and so that I can make up my own mind about it. Length of movie kinda puts me off though.
  22. The only Dickens Book I have read is A Christmas Carol. Fully intend to read Great Expectations and I also like the look of The Old Curiosity Shop.
  23. My Favourite Stephen King Book would have to be The Stand.
  24. It was a toss up last night between Being Human and 24. Being Human won cos there are no ad breaks. Recorded 24 but doesn't look like we will get watching it until Thursday.
  25. Don Quixote and The Count of Monte Cristo. Have both of these on my bookshelf and am sure that once I start them I will really enjoy them but the size is kinda off-putting!
