Well after doing so well for the last couple of years just using the library and not buying many new books I have rewarded myself with lots of new purchases recently I am just in a phase where I need to be in bookshops to stroke all the books, then buy the books so TBR pile has grown again. Sigh... I also need to get reading more as I am seriously behind target of 60 books for the year.

Am going to see this at the cinema hopefully this week. I don't usually read the book of a film after i've seen the film (although i will the other way round). A friend went to see it last week and is desperate to discuss it with someone! It made a big impression.

I would agree I read this last year and really enjoyed it and it is certainly a bit different, which is not easy to come by in the crime/thriller section.

I miss my local Borders I used to spend hours in there. Reading this thread has made me realise I haven't been to a good book shop for months. Must put this right this week with a trip to Waterstones

I'm currently reading The Way Home by George Pelecanos. It was another recommendation by the TV Book Club and I've loved them all so far

Yes I read it in a couple of days. I did find some parts a bit difficult and I wanted to get through them quickly (dealing with the child murders) but I will definitely read any future books by the author.

I love to see people discussing books on TV so am enjoying the new TV Book Club show but it does mean my TBR pile from the library is growing! Really enjoyed Blacklands though and looking forward to the others. I love getting recommendations that I maybe wouldn't have picked up otherwise.

I loved The Poisonwood Bible and it is one of my all time favourite reads so would definitely recommend it. I haven't read any of her others though as I think I could only be disappointed .

Well I didn't manage to meet my goal of 60 books! I did get through 53 though, so 1 more than 2008. I am off to a good start in 2010 though as have read 2 books already off to start 2010 blog now.

I'm at Chester doing an MA in counselling so most of the books I read at the moment are related to that. I still love to read fiction though and have started Albert Camus The Outsider tonight. That will be 53 by Saturday then

Well it might sound sad but I have been thinking of going through TBR pile picking out smaller books to try and get to my goal . Its ridiculous though because at the moment I am also trying to get assignments finished for uni so should really concentrate on that.

Well we are just in to December and I am still 8 books away from my goal I did read a couple of books recently from my long held TBR pile and one in particular (The Magic Circle) was a big disappointment! I realised I actually bought this book 8 years ago but have only just got to it and it did not live up to the hype. Never mind, plenty more gems to be found i'm sure. I am already thinking of my goal for 2010... think it will be to read most of the books from the ones I already own
