  1. I'm afraid I never liked this book as a child. Maybe I ought to read it again to see if I like it now.
  2. Trying to find clothes that fit me and the only ones that do are usually the most expensive ones
  3. I agree with you. I've visited the countryside where the book was based and it's a lovely area. You can imagine the rabbits running over the downs.
  4. I use book marks. I hate turning down the corner of pages and still use a bookmark even if the book is really tatty and falling apart and it wouldn't make any difference if you turned the corner down or not.
  5. I've read nearly all of them and not in the correct order as I borrowed them from the library but it didn't spoil the enjoyment for me personally. I prefered the books to the TV series Rebus.
  6. When the goalposts keep changing at work and you can never do anything right
  7. I found it hard going in places but I perservered and absolutely loved it. And I love the Kate Bush song too.
  8. I can relate to that one with the wet summer we're having. The weeds just love it...and so do the slugs and snails!!
  9. I like gardening. I've just got into growing my own veggies. Last Autumn i planted Japanese onions and I'm eating them now yum yum. I've eaten all the potatoes I grew in black bags and I pulled out a big fat juicy carrot today from a pot I sowed earler in the year. There's nothing like eating something you've grown yourself.
  10. Chicken breasts, beans, mash and homemade onion gravy.
  11. I find it irritating when people scribble in library books and rip out pages.
  12. The only ones that really stick in my mind are the Janet and John books. I can't remember any others at all so I obviously wasn't impressed by any of them!
  13. The Tale of Peter Rabbit Beatrix Potter The Railway Children E. Nesbit The Secret Garden Frances Hodgson Burnett Follyfoot Monica Dickens The Water Babies Charles Kingsley
  14. I definately read books more than once. I find I've missed things the first time round so enjoy them all over again the next time.
  15. I tend to take any books I've read and don't think I'll read again to charity shops (mostly I buy from charity shops anyway) But sentimental ones and my favourites will be staying in my bookshelves.
  16. I loved the book but couldn't stand the film! I've just found a copy of the book in a charity shop and I can't wait to read it again.
  17. Mine are by author but not in alphabetical order. My favourites are in the middle of the book shelf. Not so favourites get relegated to the ends. I've no idea why I do that!
  18. I have a short attention span so if something doesn't grab me within the first chapter or so then I'm on to the next book.
  19. I've just gone and counted....oh dear I think I've got a book-buying problem I can't resist poking about in second-hand book shops. I just love old books.
  20. When I got my pocket money I use to rush straight to the book shop and buy a paperback. Some of my favourites childhood books include The Waterbabies The Secret Garden The Railway Children The Cat in the Hat And anything with horses in it as I was pony mad.

    Hi!

Gosh! What a lovely friendly welcome. Thanks everyone. I've gone back to my childhood and having a nostalgic time reading books I had as a child. I'm spending a fortune on ebay collecting them I've just started Monica Dickens Worlds End series.
