  1. Ok now I noticed how awesome people's threads are and a place where I get great book recommendations to go in my little black wishlist book. So I decided to give it a go, even though my grammer sucks and I can't review very well, but hopefully you guys might spot a book that you like and it gives you as many hours of pleasure as it did for me. Start of Reading list: 28th August 2009 Book #1 Deja dead by Kathy Reichs I was recommended this author by someone on the forum (sorry I forgot who !) and they said it was from the person who inspired the BONES TV series. Even though I had only watched a few I really liked the storylines so I knew this had to be a must. It was from my local library and was the follow on read to Patricia Cornwell's Postmortem. This I felt worked well as there has been many conparisons to the two authors. From the Waterstones website. Synopsis The #1 Bestseller That Introduces Kathy Reichs' Acclaimed Heroine: Forensic Anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan In the year since Temperance Brennan left behind a shaky marriage in North Carolina, work has often preempted her weekend plans to explore Quebec. When a female corpse is discovered meticulously dismembered and stashed in garbage bags, Tempe detects an alarming pattern -- and she plunges into a harrowing search for a killer in the city's winding streets. But her investigation is about to place those closest to her -- her best friend and her own daughter -- in mortal danger.... This is the first book in the Dr Temperance Brennan Series. When I started this book I noticed that the charactors especially Temps were nothing like the show. If you are a HUGE fan of the series. It will take a while to adapt to the book and change your perception of the charactor. It took me a good 100 pages to fully get her out of my mind. This aside. I found the book to be quick paced with many twists and turns. There are many sub plots to the book and many charactors to become aquainted with. I find Temp a far more indepth charactor someone who I was able to feel for and have feeligs for. With Cornwell's Scapetta I really did not care. I also liked the character Ryan and hope that he is in future Tempe books. The last 200 pages flew by and I could not put it down. I found the forensic depth fantastic and gave me a real insight and mental image of the crimes. Bad points. It is a fairly long book for this type of genre, with some scenes having a bit too much detailing and some of Tempe's 'thinking' dialouge kind of went over my head. But overall I was still impressed. If you like Cornwell's style and love a good detective/crime genre then this is a must. I am already looking forward to reading the next one! 9/10 (I hope the review was ok!) CW.

My favourite authors are James Patterson and Karin Slaughter. With Karin Slaughter I would start right form the beginning. With BLINDSIGHTED. really good books. Also a lot of people recommend Jeffery Dever also. One of his books was made into the film 'THE BONE COLLECTOR with Angilena Jollie. Whatsaface.

  20. I agree with previous posters. My TBR pile is just that, a pile of books that I have accumilated. Some are random pickups from chairty shops or sales at waterstones at bargain prices. I see it i get it. I know I want to read it and it is there when I can get to it. I also have another pile ( A small pile) beside my bed of books that I need to read urgently because they are borrowed from a friend or are from the library. My wish list or should I say 'Wish book' is exactly that. They are books that I am wanting to read but have not yet aquired. I have them all wrote down in a little black book and is always in my bag, so if I go to a charity shop/ second hand book shop or waterstones I can get it out and see if any of them are on offer or there to buy. My wish book only had a few book in it, now thanks to this site is is nearly full
