  1. He kind of does. He plays Tony really well that I now think of him when reading books. Even though I had my own picture of Tony before the TV show. But there are other characters where I don't think of them. Like Morgan freeman? I think he played Alex Cross in Along came a spider. I have kept to my own ideal of Alex. Sorry slightly off Topic.
  2. No worries. If you look on FantasticFiction you will get the list of all her books. Personally I would start with The Mermaids Singing and then The wire in the blood. Thats if you want to read the Tony Hill series. Which I think is far the best series. Does anyone else agree?

    Hello

  4. Same as me. Jacket potato with cheese and colslaw with loads salad. Just waiting for the jackets to be cooked.
  5. Happy Birthday!

  6. Yeah I loved Robson as Tony. He does seem to capture Tony's quirks. It is a good book. I stopped reading her for a while and had Beneath the bleeding for ages on my TBR pile. I was not that interested after reading the Blurb. But it did not let me down. Loads of twists and turns. Awesome ending! Oh and I love the Tony's Mother storyline. Look forward to hearing what you think. CW
  7. wow I was sure there was a thread about her. One of my favourite authors. I love the Tony Hill series. I am actually going to by the new Hill Book at the weekend. I first got into her by getting a half price book in WHSmith it was Wire in the blood and mermaid Sings. I was fortunate to read them before the series Came on TV. I read beneath the bleeding about a month ago and really enjoyed it and got me ready for the new one.
  8. Haha. I always think about onlie shopping but the boys help me make out my shopping lists each week. they have ten items each. Helps my oldest to read (even though he does not know it ;) )

Friends over sounds good and probably a lot cheaper too.

Yep loving Dex. I read a little more while having lunch and I am intrigued by so many things. Especially about What happened with the fishing Trip with the boy.. If you know what I mean. Poor little fishie! I am up to the part I am only 150 pages in. Not ahd the time to read much. But I am hoping after doing Mummy things with the boys and watching the football (Hopefully) I will get some major reading done.

  9. Yeah I have read about that book. It tries to show how Darwin's theory can be applied to everday life. It is used in some University courses as a core book if I'm right. THe book was breifly talked about in a psychology journal I was reading. Will be interesting to hear your thoughts. Enjoy.
  10. Hey thanks for the friends request. Hope you are having an awesome day!

  11. Oh wow! Ladies night?? have a good night out at the weekend.

I am good thanks. Just plodding along through loads of jorunals and highlighting paragraphs so much that I have more florescent colours in my office than the 80's and 90's put together. Other than that, all is good:)

    How about you?

Oh by the way. I am loving this Dexter so much more. I see what you mean about the grusome case. Imagine if someone like Slaughter or Reich got hold of that idea. Imagine the Graphic detail they could have gone into :o.

  12. Fantastic!!! I hope you will not be dissapointed. Hopefully you will be like me and want to read the next one straight away.

Yeah I live in a little village/town and thel library is new as the old hut that we used to have burnt down. but it is still small and 9/10 I have to order the books in. But thats ok. It gives me time to dent my TBR pile Hahaha.

  13. No my library is tiny as it is a village/ town one. But it is linked to all the libraries across the area including the city ones. So I can reserve online and wait a while and I do get it. They are pretty quick in getting them in. As for my back, I can still feel the twinges now! I think my mouth dropped when I saw the size of it, bearing in mind that it is a hardback edition. I could use it for a doorstop
  14. Wow! that sounds like my sort of book. I like you are interested in subject matters about White supremacists and getting their 'payback' so to speak. I have just added this to my little black book and will keep an eye out in the future. I noticed you said that you read previous works by him. Should they be read in order? CW ***Edit**** I have just gone on my library's website and reserved this book. They do not have any others by him so I hope not reading previous book will hinder the reading pleasure or storylines.
  15. Thats ok mate. Trust me I have only been here around a months and I love I love it here. I have picked up so many book ideas (thank god for libraries!) I found it got me excited about books again. My partner recommended me find a book club forum. he hates books and I think it was a polite way of saying "STOP TALKING TO ME ABOUT BOOKS GOD DAMN IT!" So I found this site and never looked back :)

I hope you do try the Slaughter books. A few of us on here read her books.

  17. Ah you are a Dexterette?! Awesome! Yeah I am loving the books. Thats what I like about this forum. I have found so many interesting books on this site. To be honest i am not a huge fan of the show but Charm convinced me to the read the books. I read the first one last week on my hols and picked the one I am reading now yesterday. Did not get much time to read it last night but hoping I could have a few hours to myself at some point today.

I noticed you are in the Twilight fan club. i have not read any of the books not noramlly my sort of thing but I have reserved it at my local library. If a book can cause so much emotion, a bit like Marmite. It has to be a book to read, just so I can keep up with loads of the threads on here

  18. Hey thanks for the add.

    How are you???

  19. Hey no worries
  20. I like Patterson too. I am a huge Val McDermid fan and I Karin slaughter. If you like Patterson and Cornwell I recommend Slaughter. Start from the beginning and read Blindsighted. apart from a couple of her recent books which were not up to her high standard they are by far my favourite books. I have just finished reading her latest Genisis and it was one fo the best books I have read in years! But you need to read the previous first.

Oh btw. To send your comment to me. You need to click on the View cnversation/reply to message and when you post the message it will go straight to my page. Or you can just click on me and reply there. Or they just get sent onto your comment page. which is fine but takes a wee longer for me to realise you have replied

  21. Hahaha. I just never check what I am typing I am normally looking around the room or telling my kids to go back to bed. I then automatically press Post.. Whoops! haha.

So who are your favourite authors??

  22. Sorry my spelling is so bloody bad. It is suppose to be "To be honest I did not know either." If our paths cross in the future you will soon realise how bad my spelling and grammer are.

  23. To be honest I did not no either. Like most things I learn on here Charm told me. I am not a big fan of the show and only watched a couple episodes I do not like the person who plays Dexter. But the book is better. It is quite a quick book. But full of one liners. A very unique book!

I hope you enjoy. can't wait to hear what you think.

  24. Ok thanks. I have been holding back reading it and I still have a fair bit of time until I have to give it back to the library. But I will start it soon. I think it is also daunting because I have the hardback edition and it is HUUUUUUGGGGEEEE!!!! I nearly broke my back carrying it home!
  25. Thanks for the recommendation. I will check her out! ***Edit*** I just went and looked up the book and I nearly picked it up from the library until I found the dexter book! I will pick it up tomorrow. Thanks again CW
