I was thinking about going to the one that I thought was in Cardiff as Gethin Jones ( do you know him) was the narrrator, and that I would have loved to have seen! Haha, but it is not in Cardiff but further up north which is a nightmare!

    World Cup 2010

As Simon Cowell would say "No one had that X facotr" I found none of the 'star players' played like they should, and I didn't seem to find many amazing moves, goals or moments. I was travelling back from Bristol so I never caught the match but heard that Holland played dirty.
  4. Got Karin Slaughter - Broken from my friend over the weekend, so I read 70 pages of that on the wat back home. Awesome read so far..... Of Course!
  5. That sucks about Burned mate. i did notread your review as I am still have not read tempted yet. But I have noticed that they may be going down in rating book by book!
  6. Book #19: The preacher by Camilla Lackberg For the first time in English, the second psychological thriller from No 1 bestselling Swedish crime sensation Camilla Lackberg. In the fishing community of Fjallbacka, life is remote, peaceful -- and for some, tragically short. Foul play was always suspected in the disappearance twenty years ago of two young holidaymakers in the area. Now a young boy out playing has confirmed this grim truth. Their remains, discovered with those of a fresh victim, send the town into shock. Local detective Patrik Hedstrom, expecting a baby with his girlfriend Erica, can only imagine what it is like to lose a child. When a second young girl goes missing, Hedstrom's attention focuses on the Hults, a feuding clan of misfits, relgious fanatics and criminals. The suspect list is long but time is short -- which of this family's dark secrets will provide the vital clue? I picked this book up as I had to read something for my first book club from the new arrivals shelf.I saw this and as I love Larsson, and this a well known scandinavian author thought I would give it ago, Ok so this is set in Sweden, and has to do with a hidden family secret. Other than that there are NO other comparisons to the girl with/who series by Stieg Larsson. The style of writing is totally different and so are the characters. Lackberg is not as detailed as larsson, which in some respects is a good thing. It starts off jumping straight in, and I like that. I was not bored at any point yet at the same time it is not a book that I would say is at my top ten but I would look out for her again. If you like authors like Val McDermid, Karin Slaughter, then I would recommend to read this book. 7.5/10
  7. Book #18: Percy Jackson and the Lightening thief Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I never asked to be the son of a Greek god. I was just a normal kid, going to school, playing basketball, skateboarding. The usual. Until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher. That's when things started really going wrong. Now I spend my time fighting with swords, battling monsters with my friends and generally trying to stay alive. This is the one where Zeus, God of the Sky, thinks I've stolen his lightning bolt - and making Zeus angry is a very bad idea.. Ok this is a YA book. I got thhis out from the library as my oldest wanted to watch the film. I LOVED IT!!! I have been busy and did not have much time to read it in a long sitting I wish I had!It was just great in everyway! I loved going back to my childhood and reliing all the old Greek lessons about Greek Mythology and how the author has related it to modern times. i have read this to my son now (I bought the series) and he loves it. He can relate to Percy as he had ADHD and dyslexia and they go into why Percy has these things wrong with him (It helps him fight and learn Greek ancient Greek better) Quick paced and awesome characters!!! 10/10
  8. I am 70 pages into Two Caravans and I rally am bored already. There is nothing I like about it. As it is my library book I will carry on, but I think I will need to read another book at the same time or my mojo will go and I have a pile of books that I must delve into soon!
  9. Oh i am glad you had a good book club meet. It was my first one and it was hard to talk about a book that only had a week to read and I never finished. Also everyone had different books as the chosen book apparently was really bad and no one finished it. Everyone was friendly...and I got a free cup of coffee!!!!! So I eagerly await the next one. As for me I read another 20 pages of The Preacher last night. Unfortunately Due to the football I am not reading too much at the moment, and of course with it being England tonight, I don't think much will read tonight. Hopefully during the weekend I will have time for a read when I take the kids down the park.
  10. So I went to my library book club and it was really interesting. I failed to finish The Preacher by Camilla Lackberg. But got over half way and is pretty good so far. This months book read for the club is Two Caravans by Marina Lewycka. not my sort of thing but we shall see. I also picked up in the YA secton a book called The Medici Seal, does not seem like a YA book but looks interesting. The book club has seemed to get my mojo back so we shall see how much reading I get done!
  11. Wow!! I love your list! I have like other people have said read a lot ofyour books and some I have not heard but will be making a mental noted and keping a close eye on your reviews. CW
  12. sorry for the late reply Frankie. It say that I had viewed my thread and no no posts were made. But I really had not! Anyway yes you have to read the book because what Chrissy said was right *High five to Chrissy!* And peeps feel fre to go off topic anytime you want on my thread. @Willoyd. I don't thin my mojo has recovered from that book. I think i was epxecting it to be so good yet just utterly dissapointed me. If I had no expectations I don't think my review would have been so bad. Maybe on hinesight I was a little OTT
  13. My mojo has come back but not enough. I have to finish The Preacher by Camilla Lackberg by 6 o clock for my first library book club meet. I don't want to look a Wally and not have anything to talk about. As for the book. Well it is reading well. Nothing like I expected. I was thinking far too much into thinking it was be abother Steig Larsson kind of book because of the Scandinavian connection, burt I would say it is more like a val McDermid/ Jack Kerley kind of crime book. Enjoyable so far. But I really do need to finish it today. Wish me luck!
  14. Haha, thats ok mate!

I have been so busy not had much reading time, but I do start my first book club meeting at my local library on Thursday which should be fun.

Can't wait for you to read Genisis. Her new book comes out soon.

But other than that I have been on twitter. haha.

    How are you?

  15. So I went to the library the other day, as I really did not know what book to read for my first library book club meet on Thursday. I went to the library and looked at the new arrivals and I saw the book The Preacher by Camilla Lackberg. I have read fifty pages and it is good so far. Apparently this is suppose to be a top class Scandinavian Crime writer, so I thought because of my love for Larrson I could compare the two and I would have something to talk about. The writing styles are totally different. but like I said before really enjoying it.
  16. I like Genisis. I found the last couple of her books slightly disspaointing, but I agree not as good as some of her earlier books. i can't wait for the new one to come out soon!!

  17. Is it good Kate? As for me I have decided to start reading Dark Lover by J.R.Ward
  18. I watched Twilight The other day and then watched Horrible Histories season one boxset with the boys.
  19. HI Rachel welcome to the forum.
