I'm probably finishing Seven Deadly Wonders by Matthew Reilly today. Just in time, because I got word from my local library that The Host by Stephenie Meyer is waiting for me.
oh snap I just finished this too. I'd be interested to hear what you thought of it.
I'm starting on the second in the series today Six Scared Stones. I need to get this read and the last ( The Five Greatest Worriors) before Friday when I get to hear the author speak about them YAY!
-
I have only read John Marsden series of books
Tommorrow when the war begins Young adult books
loved them;)
Yay another Marsden lover we seem to be few and far between - people just don't know what they're missing by not reading the Tomorrow series:friends0:

I'm re-reading Seven Ancient Wonders by Mathew Reilly. Gearing up for the third book The Five Greatest Worriors which is released in a few days. I also scored a ticket to go and hear the man himself talk about his work next week which I'm over the moon about I can't wait!

:eek2: I thought I'd misread it to begin with! Have you read the 'real' ones?
I have and when I stumbled across this one on fantastic fiction i had to get it. I was completely hooked when I read that the girl's name is Heffa Lump
-
today I ordered Pemberley by Emma Tennant, Darcy's story by Jane Aylmer and New Moan by Stephfordy Mayo - the first book in the Twishite series - just a bit of light reading.

I finished Pride and Prejudice on Saturday and it went striaght into my favourites - why I didn't read this years ago I'll never know.
I'm starting on Morgassa's Folly by Paul Collins and Danny Willis
-
I'm up to Vol 2 in Pride and Prejudice and loving it. I also went out yesterday and bought:
Persuasion - Austen
Mansfield Park - Austen
and
Tallow - the curse of the bond riders book one by Karen Brooks
-
I've got the same copy of Pride and Prejudice and I've been carring it round in a towel so as not to damage it, so I know how you feel
-
I started Pride and Prejudice last night as part of my read 1 classic for every 10 fiction books last night. I'm kicking myself that I didn't read it years ago it's lovely.
-
I finished The Pinhoe egg today. Quite sad I wish this series could go on forever. These books will be on my re-read list for many years to come.
-
I finished up Conrad's fate tonight and look forward to starting the Pinhoe egg tomorrow. Tis a little sad though to come to the end of such a wonderful and quite unique series of books - they will go on my all time favourite list I think.

So far this year I have reached my target of reading 52 books (up to 59) and I'm now aiming for 90. I have 116 on the TBR pile and it'll keep growing as I buy at least 1 new book a week.
And finally, where do you hope your reading will take you in the next 6 months?
In the next 6 months I want to set myself the following challenges:
- read at least 1 classic for every 10 'modern' books
- finish the bazillion series that I've started
- re-read some favourites maybe have a re-read month, and not feel guilty
- start and maintain a reading thread on here
- aim to read 100 books next year
-
you should check out Moers The Alchemaster's Apprentice which has just been released too - it looks like it'll be a cracker.

I finished up Jeremy Clarkson's Born to be Riled and I'm either going for another Diana Wynne Jones book or Pride and Prejudice. I'm thinking more the Jones as Austen is a hardback and I want to be able to read in the bath tomorrow:lurker:
-
I have The Dante club here. I read it years ago and remember being really confused - but that's just me. I'm happy to send it on to a new home if your interested in it? let me know:smile2:
-
I'm halfway through Born to bo riled by Jeremy Clarkson - I'm hoping to finish by the end of the week.
-
I'm Jeremy Clarkson and I have an opinion on everything and I'll tell you all about it
-
Finished up Mixed Magics last night. Not sure if I want to read the next Chrestomanci book or read something completely different like a Jeremy Clarkson book. Think it mighht be Clarkson.
-
Finished The lives of Christopher Chant tonight and will soon be starting on Mixed Magics. I'm on such a roll it's getting crazy, hope my mojo stays around when I run out of Diana's books!
-
It was years before Christopher told anyone about his dreams.
