Half way thru Norwegian Per Petterson's Out Stealing Horses. Excellent. Ordered Awakening by William Horwood,and bought The Mist In The Mirror by Susan Hill & The Sword Of Shame by The Medieval Murderers in charity shops.

Started Three Day Road by Joseph Boyden this morning. A story of two Canadian Indians fighting in the WW1 trenches. Very good.

Nearly finished The Hungry Hills by Janet Macleod Trotter set in a north-east mining community in 1926 during the General Strike. Going to collect Winter's Bone by Daniel Woodrell from the library tomorrow and also ordered online: Wake by Robert J Sawyer/Wild Trek by Jim Kjelgaard/Women Of Ill Fame by Erika Mailman. Also fancy The Small Hand by Susan Hill.

Finished Ann Cleeves' Shetland crime novel RAVEN BLACK,and didn't guess who the killer was!
Started Maggie Stiefvater's werewolf novel SHIVER.

After reading Michelle Paver's excellent ghost story Dark Matter in two days I had a day off then started Raven Black by Ann Cleeves. Shiver's high on my TBR list too!

Started Dark Matter by Michelle Paver early this morning. It's a ghost story set in the Arctic in 1937,and very good so far.

I read The Snowman recently and can understand why Nesbo's so highly rated. Great threaded crime,unusual but effective descriptive writing,totally believable characters,and Oslo and Norway as formidable backgrounds. Look forward to reading more.
