Thank you. I actually put Bitten on my Christmas list of books my nan was to buy for me by seeing so much good reviews of it here on the forum . The Jane Austen books I am looking foward to starting soon, I've felt a bit nervous, I have a big book of all her works together and I have never actually read a classic before so looking at it I feel a bit nervous. I've already read my first King book so I look foward to starting The Stand after hearing so much good things about it, and yes I have the unabridged version, another monster book on my bookcase!

New Moon by Stephenie Meyer Synopsis from Waterstones: I stuck my finger under the edge of the paper and jerked it under the tape. 'Shoot,' I muttered when the paper sliced my finger. A single drop of blood oozed from the tiny cut. It all happened very quickly then. 'No!' Edward roared ...Dazed and disorientated, I looked up from the bright red blood pulsing out of my arm - and into the fevered eyes of the six suddenly ravenous vampires. For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. But being in love with a vampire is more dangerous than Bella ever could have imagined. Edward has already rescued Bella from the clutches of an evil vampire but now, as their daring relationship threatens all that is near and dear to them, they realise their troubles may just be beginning ... My Thoughts: This is another re-read. This is my favourite book in the Twilight series and it is still up to standards the millionth time I have read it ! This book focuses mainly around my favourite character in the whole series, Jacob Black. I love reading the parts with Jacob in because he seems to be the only real character in the book, for me he brings life to the series and is a breath of fresh air from the Bella/Edward love which can get a bit sickening at times. With what happens at the beginning of this book I do start to feel sorry for Bella but the ending yet again just made me more annoyed at her. The whole Something else that bugged me about the writing was the chapter titled 'Paris'. I just don't like how Stephenie feels the need to use this chapter as her essay and thoughts of Romeo and Juliet, to me that came across as quite arrogant of her. The story overall isn't bad, I just wanted there to be more Bella/Jacob time ! But a New Moon from Jakes point of view, his feelings, etc would be quite interesting. Rating: 8/10

Oh thats good then I have one of her books sitting on my bookcase that my nan got me for Xmas 2008. I've recently been wanting to read it but have been prefering to stick to stuff I know.

I was wondering, have you read anything by Paullina Simons before?

I quite enjoyed doing last years reading list (even though I started half way through the year) as it was a place I could keep tabs on what I have read and what I thought about the books so I have decided to keep another one for 2010! Currently reading: The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer

This shall be my last review of 2009 and I look foward to all my new reads starting 2010! Twilight by Stephenie Meyer Synopsis: When seventeen-year-old Isabella Swan moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father she expects that her new life will be as dull as the town itself. In spite of her awkward manner and low expectations, she finds that her new classmates are drawn to this pale, dark-haired new girl in town. But not, it seems, the Cullen family. These five adopted brothers and sisters obviously prefer their own company and will make no exception for Bella. Bella is convinced that Edward Cullen in particular hates her, but she feels a strange attraction to him, although his hostility makes her feel almost physically ill. He seems determined to push her away - until, that is, he saves her life from an out of control car. Bella will soon discover that there is a very good reason for Edward's coldness. He, and his family, are vampires - and he knows how dangerous it is for others to get too close. My Thoughts: This will be quite quick as it is a re-read and I have discussed my thoughts before on old Twilight threads of this forum . I think this read has completely changed my thoughts of a certain Edward Cullen though... At first Edward was a god-like character (blame Meyer for the use of the word), he was brilliant in every way, he was gorgeous (dazzling even? ), every girl fancied him, he's a vampire (what's not to love about that?) and he will do anything to protect his (rather annoying) girlfriend. After a few more reads of the book none of this applies to Edward anymore, the fact is he is a complete control freak with anger issues. Everything that Bella says he seems to have a constant man period over and he likes to take charge in everything. Before Bella and Edward started going out Is this really an ideal boyfriend? Also the constant clumsiness of Bella really annoys me, its quite pathetic how she can't even run without falling over and is constantly making big issues of it. You would think any normal guy will tell her to get over herself rather than thinking it is sweet ... The story itself is good, and one I enjoy reading over and over again, it is just the characters that really get on my nerves. Jacob seems to be the only fresh character in the book and yet we see very little of him. Personally I can't wait to get reading one of the best books in the series, New Moon, with plenty of Jacob in it ! Rating: 8/10

Gerald's Game by Stephen King Synopsis from Waterstones: Jessie is trapped: during an ill-fated S&M game, she kicks her husband and induces a fatal coronary. She is handcuffed to the bed in a lakeside cabin in the middle of nowhere, with no means of escape. Voices in her head force her to confront a buried childhood trauma. My Thoughts: This is the first Stephen King book I have read and to be honest I wish I had started with something different. King's style of writing interesting and does have the power to keep you gripped but unfortunately sometimes I found there was a bit too much rambling for my liking. I didn't particularly enjoy the scenes in which Jessie was trying to escape from the handcuffs or trying to reach the water because I felt it dragged on a bit. The story overall was interesting enough and the ending was written really well and was not the type of ending you would have expected. Some parts was quite...gruesome...for example Overall this wasn't a bad book, King had the power to keep me wanting to know what would happen next, and the way he had me cringing at the more gruesome parts of the book only goes to show how well he had written the book. I would love to read more books by King as overall he is an excellent writer. Rating: 7/10

I like the sound of the Harry Potter bookmark ! I got a new bookmark today as my current one has been through alot now...its only been a few months as well ...my new one has a rabbit on a tree stump with his arms wide with the words "Guess how much I love to read?" written across the top.

The X Factor

I will let you know what I think of it I'm not that far into it yet so it would be unfair to judge so soon...I have had people tell me it is quite good but this is my first Stephen King book so I'm not too sure what to expect really.

Finished PS, I Love You last night and I am now reading Gerald's Game by Stephen King.

PS, I Love You by Cecelia Ahern Synopsis from Waterstones: Some people wait their whole lives to find their soul mates. But not Holly and Gerry. My Thoughts: I thought this book was quite beautiful in a way, fair enough the writing isn't the best but if you can tell a story then what does it really matter? The book was a lot different from what I expected, I thought it was going to be quite a sad book but the only times I actually cried was when I found I was laughing so much throughout it, it really was so funny at times and really...oh it just made me cringe so much It really is about just living your life and being yourself, this was a fantastic message to get across. I did like the characters but I thought her friends could be a bit...in your face at times, but they were always loyal to Holly and always stuck by her . Her old friends I felt were truly horrible I felt Gerry's last letter was really necessary for Holly to be able to move on in life but it is a shame it took so long for that message, but he knew her best and knew how she would be coping and understood the support she would need to build up her life before she could move on. I liked Daniel but just at the end, I really couldn't stand him. How could anybody stand to be around a person as shallow as Laura?! Overall it was a fantastic book and I am glad it caught my eye in the store a few weeks ago, I will be reading more books by this author. Rating: 10/10
